The hardest part of being a sub is giving your heart and body to the right Dom.
Master Ford is a consummate Dom, always focused on giving a sub the most important gift of all—safety. When a friend leaves a sub in a dangerous situation, it is up to Ford to both rescue and care for the boy. What starts as duty swiftly turns to personal desire.
Cody is new to the lifestyle, trusting and in need of protection and control. When his Master puts him in danger, he can only hope that the Dom sent to save him is worthy of it.
Ford has rules, and one of them is no poaching on another Dom’s sub. But Cody is different. This boy needs to learn what it really means to put oneself under another’s control. Teaching him that valuable lesson, while bringing them both indescribable pleasure, becomes a temptation he cannot resist.
REVIEW:
I had a hard time with this one. Not that it’s a bad book. It’s not. However. With being in the lifestyle at one point, my biggest point of anger is “Doms” who think they are the real thing. They think they have the right to be a Master or a Dom to any sub or slave and then can do whatever they want, thinking nothing of the sub.
When Cody is left hanging on a cross because his Master got into an accident, it dawned on him, he could have died. There was no air in the place. He was probably going to suffer from dehydration or a heat stroke. And although the accident was not the fault of either Cody or his “Master”, when a true Master, by the name of Ford came to save him, he finally got a taste of what a true Master is. And Ford wasn’t even trying to be his Dom. It’s just second nature, Just like it’s second nature to Cody to be a sub/slave. But once he understood where the other “Master” went wrong, he decided he wanted the man that would treat him right. But would Ford want him back?
This is one of those books I wish I could reach in and punch someone straight in the face. And wished Ford would have. But with Gage being hurt bad in an accident already, he decided to show a small bit of mercy. But man, did I hate Gage. He’s everything wrong in a dom. No contract, no safewords, no way for the sub to have an out. And that’s the wrong thing all around. People don’t understand, even in the harshest of BDSM scenes, if it’s a true contracted, consensual thing, whatever kink they have is their business. But if a dom is mistreating a sub, and the sub has no way out, it’s dead wrong. The sub actually is the one that carries all the power in the relationship. Not the Dom. If he’s a true Dom. Because one word should and could end everything they have. And I’m so glad that in this Cody got to meet a Dom that would treat him right. He got everything he wanted in Ford and knew in his heart that he would be safe. Because in one day, Ford showed what kind of man he really was in life. Even when he could have been a Dom the whole time, he didn’t. One, he didn’t poach on another’s territory, and two, Cody needed to see someone out of scene for a while to show him compassion and that life can be good with the right person. And with all Cody had already been through in his life before this, he needed someone who would be good to him.
