Lincoln Holt and Kent Scott, former lovers, find themselves thrust together again twelve years later after Linc comes home from the Army with an injury that Kent will be treating.

The tides tore them apart…
Lincoln Holt is a damn fine soldier – one of the best. But an ambush leaves Linc injured and many of his squad dead. Discharged and disillusioned, he heads back to the small town he’d once been desperate to leave. Then a physical therapy appointment brings him face to face with a grown-up, sexier version of the boy he had once loved, and Linc finds himself hoping against all hope for one more chance.
Time kept them apart…
Love doesn’t last. That’s Kent Scott’s belief after watching his mother bounce from husband to husband. His own short-lived affair with Linc is further proof – especially since Linc had left without saying goodbye. Kent had resolved to never let love dig its claws into him again. Then Linc lands in Kent’s clinic, looking taller, broader, and more gorgeous than ever, and Kent feels the pull.
Time and tides renew…
With every heady moment spent in Linc’s presence, Kent’s resolve weakens. But when Kent discovers a secret, all his doubts and fears come rushing back. The time and tides of life were once strong enough to keep them apart, but will love be enough to keep these forces at bay?

By the front door, Dylan made his way over to the front desk to pick up a small cooler.
“Two large mason jars with sun tea and carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.” Dylan handed the cooler over to Kent, who slung its long strap over one shoulder. “To die for,” he added with a wink to Kent.
“The hell you doing giving away my cupcakes?” Linc asked, disgruntled.
“I do have my own price for hauling your ass around,” Kent said.
Linc and Dylan erupted with laughter, and Dylan patted Kent on the shoulder. “Good job. Can’t let him get too comfortable being waited on.”
“Fuck you both,” Linc said and swung himself out of the front door. Kent waved goodbye to Dylan and shut the front door behind him.
Linc stopped at the top of stairs. “What the hell is that?” he asked.
Coming up beside Linc, Kent eyed the wheelchair below. “That is how I get your happy ass on the beach.”
“Oh.” Linc seemed stunned for a moment. Then he shot Kent a half-assed glare over his shoulder. “It looks ridiculous.”
Kent laughed and shook his head. “Hurry up, or I’ll take it and the cupcakes with me and leave you behind.”
Linc muttered something unintelligible beneath his breath as he swung his way down the steps. Kent grinned, feeling lighter than he had in days.
At the wheelchair, Kent lifted the picnic basket off the seat and gestured for Linc to sit.
“I can crutch until we hit the sand,” Linc protested.
Kent eyed Linc’s already sweaty brow and shook his head. “Just sit. I can’t push this thing and carry all of the food without it all falling over.”
Linc sat, and Kent took Linc’s crutches before loading up his lap with the picnic basket and small cooler. “Don’t eat all the cupcakes,” Kent warned. Linc snorted.
The warm air already smelled of the ocean as Kent pushed Linc down the sidewalk. The beach was two blocks from the house, not too far that Kent would get winded. The hard part would be when they actually started crossing the sand. That’s when the tires would do most of the work.
The wheelchair hit a rock, knocking Kent from his thinking and making Linc sigh.
“I know I’m gorgeous but you think you could focus a little more?” Linc asked, his words teasing. It made a smile bloom on Kent’s face. This was the Linc he had been missing.
“Oh, I’ll focus enough to push you all the way into the ocean. You’ll be great entertainment as fish food while I sit up here, munching on your cupcakes.”
Linc laughed, the sound bright and carefree.
Sweat trickled down Kent’s back once they reached the sand, pushing Linc through the loose pack.
The waves rolled lazily up against the shore, twinkling in the sunlight. White foam chased after the birds as they scavenged for their own food. Kent watched kids run into the water with parents not far behind, squealing and screaming at how cold it was. The fresh breeze coming off the water cooled them even as the sun beat its warm rays into their backs.
He spotted a large piece of driftwood up ahead, a perfect spot for him to sit next to Linc in his chair.
“How about up there?” Kent asked, leaning down by Linc’s ear and pointing. He noticed Linc startle, only then realizing how close he was. He could smell Linc’s body wash, his shampoo, and it reminded him again of a naked Linc standing against the wall of his bedroom, bristling with embarrassment. He quickly retreated while Linc nodded, placing his hands back on the wheelchair.
