REVIEW:
Please be warned, this is still a part of a horror series. And all though this one isn’t quite as bad, it’s still flashbacks to things that have happened and still has things they are dealing with in the present. The killers are absolute pure evil and things get gory and plain sick at times. If things like this trigger you, please be aware and be careful.
I really love how this ended, to a point. I hated losing Alex but the very ending more than made up for it. Also, I liked the little twist in things there at the very end. If you’ve read book 1, then you know some of what’s going on. As well as book 2. If you have not read those two yet, do not continue forward. Go read those first. If you have read them, then you know book 2, led them to where they were in book 1, and this book leads them to where book 1 ended. This is the story of how that ends and what happens in between.
Daniel lost his parents at a young age and no one could really get him to come out of himself, until he met another boy his age named, Tam. And things changed immediately. Daniel finally became the little boy everyone wanted him to be. But what Daniel didn’t know, is Tam and their new friend, Alex, knew things no one else did. Except Amanda, who saved Daniel, and Larenz, who hid him. And even their knowing came with time. But they all knew there was going to come a time when Daniel was going to have to be protected at all costs and it may cost all of them their lives to do so. When the evil finally did come, it was as bad as they all knew. And Daniel, being terrified, ran as he was told. But when Daniel reaches the destination he was told, he meets a man who helps him understand things that have been going on in his head and going on period. And Daniel knows he what he has to do or he will lose the light he has forever.
You know, book 2 did me in when I followed what happened to Daniel’s past self. This one…shew. I know how Andrew felt in book 2 now. It hits you on such an emotional level you just can’t help but to cry or rage or something. And it’s from all their perspectives this time, so it’s whammy like you wouldn’t believe. But it’s also a wonder. Because the length that everyone will and has already gone to for Daniel. Yeah, they know what they are dealing with so they have a slight advantage, but it’s still a big deal. Because as Alex said in this one, it can only end one way. And knowing how things could go, it’s heartbreaking. This is an emotional roller coaster for sure. But I have loved every page of it. I’m glad I’ve gotten to read this series. It’s got it’s gory moments, it’s emotional ones, but it’s worth every page, because the ending is what makes it all worth it. It does have an HEA. So don’t worry for that. But you will go through a lot to get there.
I love it.
