ETHAN SHARPE is living every young Kiwi’s dream—seeing the world for a couple of years while deciding what to do with his life. Then he gets a call. Two days later he’s back in New Zealand. Six months later his mother is dead, his fifteen-year-old brother is going off the rails and the café he’s inherited is failing. His life is a hot mess and the last thing he needs is another complication—like the man who just walked into his café,
a much older…
sinfully hot…
EPIC complication.
TANNER CARPENTER’s time in Queenstown has an expiration date. He has a new branch of his business to get up and running, exorcise a few personal demons while he’s at it, and then head back to Auckland to get on with his life. He isn’t looking for a relationship especially with someone fifteen years his junior, but Ethan is gorgeous, troubled and in need of a friend. Tanner could be that for Ethan, right? He could brighten Ethan’s day for a while, help him out, maybe even offer some… stress relief, no strings attached. It was a good plan, until it wasn’t.
REVIEW:
Somehow, love makes things possible! And Age is really just a number!
Are we really going to give up love because of an age difference? Wouldn’t life be more bearable if we go through it with someone we love with all of our heart by our side? Someone who accepts us, quirks and all?
A really, really sweet age gap story that’ll make you love Jay Hogan more! I love the books I have read so far from Ms. Hogan, she has her own distinct style of writing that is amazing. In this book, you will fall insanely in love with Ethan and Tanner!
Ethan inherited his mother’s cafe at a very young age when he least expects it, and he has to take care of his younger brother as well. Never mind that that said brother is slowly going off the rails. Everything has been hectic and he has been juggling everything and struggling with it all at the same time. He knows that everything will be too much very soon. But he cannot allow himself to stopped and just let it happen, he has to continue to do something. Find something that will ground him and calm his brother down.
Here comes Tanner Carpenter, older and truly delicious, I mean just yummy, yummy! He sees Ethan struggling and in over his head. He wants to help, what harm can it do right? He is in town for a business deal, after which he has to go back to where his business is based, another city far from where Ethan is. Meanwhile, while he is still in town, he guess there is no harm in trying to help this young, clearly over-his-head young man.
A love story evolves that will make you swoon and just fall in love again! But also a story of losing someone really important and left trying to pick the pieces up, maybe someone you thought will still be around for a long time. This is a story of someone who regrets not spending enough time with someone he loves, someone trying to make up for it by holding things together even when every little thing is coming apart right before his very eyes. Add to that, trying to raise a younger sibling when you have never done it before. The pain of losing a parent unexpectedly, a younger brother who resents you a little and coping with what’s left after, and just trying to live again.
This is a story that’ll make you rethink how you spend your time with your loved ones, how to show them how much they mean to you! A story of love and acceptance no matter how old you are, and just live life!
