REVIEW:
Lets recapitulate to the first book I absolutely loved Kennedy and Gunnar. The way they connected in their book and how their story evolved to their very wonderful HEA. So when I got the chance to pick up this second book to the series, I was so glad and I can absolutely say I am so glad that I did!
I couldn’t put the book down and read it in one go (thankfully I had the day off lol!) What’s not to love about protector Ozzy and the kind and sweet Deacon?
We come into this story where we are still investigating the arsonist that popped up in Gunnar’s Guardian and continue that storyline. To be clear, though, this story features a different couple, Ozzy and Deacon.
With Ozzy being the fireman captain and Deacon being the reporter of the story they keep bumping into each other and have been over the last couple of months. It is no secret that Deacon harbors a crush on the captain.
I thoroughly enjoyed how Ozzy and Deacon built their connection and how their interactions evolved over the story.
The blurb is short and I am not going to expand on it much, as I don’t to give anything away. The secrets that is spoken about in the blurb are the cause of some major expected drama but the ending has a surprising angle and a more than wonderful HEA.
Like I said, I am really enjoying this series! Major kudo’s to Miss Pine for writing such enjoyable, lovable main characters and side characters because who wouldn’t want to be adopted into that amazing family!
The writing makes it so easy to totally get into the story and feel for those boys and their parents.
Bonus points to the author for finishing up the arson story line. I was more than pleased to see it didn’t continue past these two books and that worked out fabulously this way.
Now it is waiting for Dallas and Hennessey’s book and may we dare to hope for even Q’s ?
I can only say I cannot wait for the next one and I hope Miss Pine continue’s to keep the whole family involved because to me that is the biggest strength of these books.
