Author: Sue Brown
Title: ALPHA PROTECT
Series: J.T’s Bar
Release date: 30th June 2020
I’m thrilled to take J.T’s Bar series forward with a new group of men – the Valentine team, who have to redeem their reputation after a rocky start.
This is Walker’s story.
Blurb:
What kind of courage does it take to travel two thousand miles just to say hello
to a man who doesn’t know you exist? At thirty years old and never been kissed, Walker is about to find out.
After a rocky start to his life in the agency, newly trained operative Walker takes the biggest chance of his life before his first mission. He returns to J.T.’s Bar to bare his virgin soul to a handsome former operative he’s only seen once.
Since Mark left the agency, he’s spent years nursing an unrequited crush on a former co-worker. He’s left with the realization he’s facing middle-age alone. Except here’s this shy, huge man from the agency waiting to talk to him in J.T.’s Bar.
The last thing they need to hear is someone is killing Mark’s former team. Against his wishes, the agency insists Mark goes into hiding and Walker is assigned the task of getting him to a safe house. Can a rookie operative like Walker protect Mark long enough to get him to safety—and eventually into his arms?
If you like action and adventure gay romance with shy hot guys and loving that can heal all broken hearts, you’ll love Alpha Protect.
verybody has a pivotal moment in their lives. You know the type of thing: jump off a high cliff or run like hell across a desert. I had that moment earlier this year. What I didn’t expect was it would coincide with a world-wide pandemic. When people asked me how virus affected me, it’s tempting to say, “What virus?” Except that’s not quite true. The Brown household all had COVID-19 but very mildly.
During that time, I left my employer/publisher, took my books back and haven’t stopped working since. The resulting lockdown has focused my mind in a way I never expected. I intended to get a job. Hah! That wasn’t going to happen. So what did I do? Wrote new books and rereleased old books as fast as I could financially manage. And so far, fingers crossed, it’s working.
It’s an ongoing process. I think it will take about two years to get everything back out. I watch my sales like a hawk, hoping each day will bring a new peak, worrying when they dip. I took Bryan Cohen’s Amazon Ads course (new one in July) because it was something I needed to get my head around and it was free. I’m not afraid to ask for help now. I stalk successful authors like a stalky-thing. Self-publishing 2020 is not the same as self-publishing 2013.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to stay a full-time author, but I’m going to bust my gut trying. Watch Sue’s space.
Walker knew he’d made a mistake the second he stepped inside the barroom.
The conversation died and everyone turned to look at him. He had two options.
He could turn tail and never come back, or he could remember he had balls and do what he’d traveled thousands of miles and given up his only free weekend in months to accomplish.
He shut the door behind him and strode over to the bar.
He didn’t expect trouble from the patrons.
With his two hundred and seventy pounds of solid muscle, not many men provoked a fight.
But he might get thrown out before he had a chance to open his mouth.
A cranky middle-aged author with an addiction for coffee, and a passion for romancing two guys. She loves her dog, she loves her kids, and she loves coffee; in which order very much depends on the time of day.

Self publishing is definitely scary but tough times don’t last… tough people do 😉 You’ll rise through this and come up as a star, Sue. I know it. I love your books a lot!
