Atlanta’s notorious narcotics task force is at it again. They are stronger, bigger, and better than ever. Especially when a city councilman sends RECON Marine Edwin Steele – who’s been blacklisted from his Oakland department – to join the team.
Steele was ready to hang up his shield. He was done fighting with bigoted bastards that couldn’t respect the job. He was good at fighting; he just needed the right team to fight with. When his uncle – City Councilman Rasmus Steele – shows him a video of God’s team in action, he knows right away it’s where his nephew belongs in order to restore his faith.
Steele was skeptical about his new placement, but when he meets God’s technology specialist/computer genius, “Tech”, he’s willing to give it his all, and he definitely shows and proves.
Tech is stunning. His sweater vest and khakis, a stark contrast to the blue-jeaned roughnecks he works with. A beautiful sheep amongst the wolves. Steel thinks there’s no way the brilliant man would be interested in a hardhead like him, but Tech has a few badass hidden talents of his own and manages to surprise him…surprise all of them.
REVIEW:
This is the fifth book in the Nothing Special series which follows God’s and Day’s team of Alpha Males Narcotics Team determined to clean Atlanta streets from drugs. We have been regaled with stories of four couples in the previous books and this one follows the love between Tech, the team’s technical expert, and Steele, a new member who came highly recommended.
Tech is the technical guru of God and Day’s team. Meanwhile, Steele left his previous employment because of the death of his partner. A former RECON Marine and a loose cannon, he feels like he’s had enough. His Uncle, a City Councilman, found him the perfect team who could really use his talent.
Tech feels that he is not worthy of being a member of the team, seeing as he does nothing but the technical side of it all. But God assured him that everyone in his team is indispensable, that they could not do what they do if not for Tech’s information on each of their operations. He is an asset to the team and he is valued.
Tech and Steele have a rocky start but the more they interact, the stronger the attraction is between them. Unbeknownst to Steele at first and one he is dumbfounded and disbelieves, the whole task force not only has strong Alpha males in it, but almost everyone is gay, except for Sin who is only gay for one person. Steele is more and more in awe of this amazing team that he is now a part of! It definitely wasn’t like this in his previous employment.
I love all of Ms. A.E. Via’s books, the story lines are great with lots of action, intense moments and fun, sexy times. I am in awe of the talent that goes into stories like this, the research and how it all comes together! Hearing it voiced by Aiden Snow is another level of awesomeness! I love the different depth he uses for the different characters in every story. It is not a small feat to voice different characters in one story and being able to maintain each level of originality for each. I love everything about this book and this series!
