Ambition can be deadly.
The right kind of exposure is all porn star Keiran Stone needs to reach his ultimate goal of opening his own restaurant, until an ill-fated audition ends with a near-deadly confrontation on the doorstep of Anniston Falls, New York’s infamous gay fight club. Rescued by one of the club’s members, Kerian is offered a job as The Asylum’s chef, and taken under the club’s protection.
He finds more than a recipe for success.
Top-tier fighter, Dallas Stephens, enjoys a variety when it comes to play outside the ring. As a switch, he finds satisfaction at both ends of the whip. Commitment never appealed to him with relationships or careers, but Keiran’s sweet temptations whet Dallas’s appetite for more than a one-night-stand. Inside and outside of the sub’s kitchen.
Ordering off the menu can be dangerous.
As Keiran fights to establish his own place within The Asylum, threats to the club’s foundation leave both men caught in the crossfire. Love and loyalty show them they’re exactly where they belong, in the most important battle either will ever face.
Surviving it is another story.
REVIEW:
If you haven’t read the others first, you need to. This series needs to be read in order or you will miss a lot. Second, this series is not for the faint of heart. When it says fight club, that’s putting it mildly. It gets into the heavier sides of BDSM at times and in this one there are quite a few triggers in it. Including attempted murder and pretty much rape. So be aware of what you are getting into.
Having said that, I’m glad I got to read this one, if not for Rhodey alone. I will be the first to admit and have stated, I hated Rhodey for what he did to Noah. I think he just went too far. But for some reason, Dallas and the new sub, Keiran, they got Rhodey’s humor at times and were learning what wasn’t a joke. And because of that, we got to see a totally different side to Rhodey in this book. And I actually like him. To a point. Still ticked about Noah, but it is what it is. Again, we get multiple different views from this book and I love that.
The stakes have now been raised higher in this one. The people after Wren are getting desperate and they don’t care who they hurt. And they’ve started with Lawson and are working their way through the core. And succeeding in doing what they want to do. Shake them all up and divide them. But Rhodey, and Dallas to a point, are seeing what’s going on and are trying to keep everything together. Rhodey does his thing and when Rhodey is getting blocked, we know it’s not good. But Dallas doesn’t feel right about being Keiran’s Dom through this, because he doesn’t feel worthy. And because of it, it’s shaking things up even worse. And with Lawson not there to ground out everyone, it’s a matter of time before things finally blow apart. And they just about did. But now things are about to make another turn, and we don’t know how it’s going to turn out. But make no mistake, they want Wren gone and will do or use whoever they have to to get it done.
The ending of this book threw me so bad. I’m hoping it won’t turn out the way I first thought, because the more I thought about it, there’s got to be a plan in place somewhere. With all the emotional roller coasters these books have put me on, I think this one was the worst. It tore me up. Desperation makes you do stupid things and because of all the fighting and tension and everything else, they were ALL missing the one thing right under their nose until it was too late. And it broke my heart that what these punks were trying to do, they succeeded in. They are breaking down the core. And I’m hoping it comes back together and they show everyone how resilient they really are. But this ending……It’s going to make things harder.
It’s a heck of a series. And I’m loving it. I hope that it’s going to get better.
