Some things even a billionaire can’t buy.
Dalton Raines always gets what he wants, and the first time he steps into Superbia Springs, he knows he wants to buy it. There’s only one thing standing in his way: Noah.
For the first time in his life, Noah Turnstock felt safe, living with his friends in the old mansion they’d inherited. Finally he’s in a place no one can take away from him.
Until the house catches Dalton’s eye.
Dalton knows the way to get Noah on his side. He knows how to wine and dine a man like this, to get him so wrapped up he’ll agree to anything. Except…he’s never run into anyone like Noah before.
It was supposed to be seduction. Then it turned into something more.
When a visitor from Noah’s past shows up, he realizes he will never be accepted into Dalton’s life. And when Dalton’s family meets Noah, their reaction could lose Dalton everything.
They can’t have each other. They’re from different worlds. But their hearts say otherwise. Their hearts say they can have everything they want.
REVIEW:
If anyone of you guys are reading this series, I hope you all are with me in that that witch Violet needs taking down. And quick. I’m about sick of her. But other than that heifer, it was kind of like a fairy tale story. The prince falling for the pauper but having trouble because his family thinks the pauper isn’t good enough.
I hurt for Noah in this. Yeah, he grew up very dirt poor. Often having to live out of his car. Being bullied and beaten for it. But he had his mom, until she met the wrong man, and suddenly things for Noah got worse. Until he met his now best friends, the Cooper boys. So when it came to leaving where he was to help them start the reopening of the hot springs Liam inherited, he hesitated at first and then realized that this was his dream. But his and the Cooper’s dream were about to be taken away in one way or another. They thought they may have the backing of the grant money from the Raines charity, but when the Raines brothers came for themselves, it started a chain of events that just became disastrous. Noah felt used by Dalton, Dalton’s brother was undermining everything at every turn, especially with their father, and the hope of having this beautiful place was being destroyed at the gleeful expression of Violet. But one thing Dalton realized from being with Noah, is that because of Noah, he’s found his passion for life again. But if he doesn’t finally make a stand, he’s going to lose it all. And Noah and his friends will lose it all as well.
You know, I don’t envy rich people. I really don’t. I don’t want to be filthy rich. I never did. I just want to have enough money where I could breathe for 5 minutes or more, without wondering if I’m going to be homeless or not. Being in Noah’s shoes in my lifetime, I never want that again. But you have to look at it from both sides. Noah is ashamed of where he came from because of all the bullying and beatings and such. He probably wouldn’t have noticed their situation quite as bad if not for that. I mean yeah, he knows, because he knows this is not how normal people live. But he had his mom for a while and that seemed to make it ok. But everything else, made it worse. But then you have Dalton’s side. Yeah, he has all the money in the world, or so it seems. He could quit now and still live quite comfortably for the rest of his life. But at what cost. A domineering father, a manipulative brother who cares for nothing but money and stop at nothing to get his way, and a life where he does nothing but work. No fun, no boyfriends, no nothing. Just work, work, work. And a lot of grief if he doesn’t work. So it’s a tossup, honestly, who has it worse. I mean yeah, Noah does to a point, because by being rich, Dalton isn’t really bullied, BUT his life is scrutinized and gossiped on. Every part of his life. So yeah, it’s a toss up. And I felt for them both when they finally felt like they had someone that saw them, but they were being torn apart.
It’s a heartfelt story. It comes with some decisions that are not easy and quite hurtful. Yes, it has an HEA, but it takes work to get there. Which is true with any relationship. But these guys are lovable and Noah is a pistol. And he’s one you definitely want to hug and often because of what he’s been through. It’s a good story. I’m just waiting for someone to get Violet and her son. They need to be taken out.
