REVIEW:
I could not be happier with the way this ended. There have been so many things that have just went wrong throughout all the packs and it’s good to finally see things taking a turn for the better. It doesn’t mean there are bad moments. There’s one in particular that breaks my heart. But things are definitely getting better and the pack is thriving once again.
This story is told from several different perspectives and I’ve loved that from the beginning. Because I love to see how everyone feels. Not just one person. Especially with a pack this big and so many different opinions. Things haven’t been great for some. And they’ve finally started learning the reasons why. The humans have been messing with them in more than just a few things. And because of it, many have suffered. But thanks to the work from River and his pack working with some of the humans, they are now finding ways to cure some of the effects of what was done to certain shifters. And because of it, things are changing. Some things are easy changes, some are not. It’s hard to accept growing up and it’s hard to accept that maybe what you’ve really wanted all along has been in front of you all along. For almost everyone in the pack, something new has come along, and whether for good or bad, growing up and changes are here.
I loved this story on so many different levels. For one, it was good to see Canaan growing up and realizing his mistakes in things. It was sad that he had to finally come to terms with his loss in it but because of it, he’s finally got a surprise or two in store for him. Grey, Ian, and Gabe have been miserable because of a decision they had to come to with Gabe’s heats, but thanks to the new meds, things are changing for them, and in more ways than one. Something they thought would never happened, has finally happened and they are ecstatic. Ian’s brother, Roanan, has got a new omega, which no one ever thought they’d see again, and life in that household has just gotten more interesting as well. I’m not saying any of this to give stuff away. Please don’t think that. But these are just a few of the shifters who have went through some horrors at things going on and it’s been so wonderful to see things turning around finally. It’s been shocking in some ways too, because of the things no one had ever thought to see. But it’s what has made this story so beautiful. They’ve taken the unexpected and because of it, they’ve grown and becoming the pack they’ve missed being.
I really could not be more happier at the ending of this. I know there’s more to come and I can’t wait to see how things go from here.
