Thomas
How do you know Cole and Peter?
I’ve known Cole for several years. He’s the lead actor in a series called Vigilante Justice. He’s a great guy, you know? Not stuck-up or anything like that. He treats me with great respect, and I appreciate that, given that I’m just a production assistant. Wait, not just a PA. Janine is always reminding me to own the title. I’ve been working in Vancouver in the business for ten years, and I’ve earned my stripes, so to speak.
As for Peter? Well, he’s a huge action star. Top-grossing movies every summer for the past three years. Maybe not the top, because he’s up against the comic book hero movies, but damn close. And now he’s here, staring in this small indie film with Cole. And they’re playing gay lovers! At first I thought it was two straight guys playing the roles, but now I’m not so sure.
You’re attracted to both Cole and Peter?
Nah. Well, not really. I mean, Cole is super hot. All long black hair and piercing blue eyes. But he’s a co-worker. I might even venture to say he’s a friend. Not that we hang out or anything. I mean, he’s the talent and I’m the crew. Plus, I’m so far into the closet you’d need a flashlight to find me. And he’s straight. Or at least I think he is.
And Peter?
Okay, the guy is sex-on-a-stick. With the most amazing sea-green eyes. Women swoon over him everywhere he goes. I think some men do as well. I mean I do. Again, he’s the talent. He’s only in town to make the movie, and then it’s back to the glamor of Hollywood. Vancouver can’t compete with that, right? I can’t compete with that, right? Except he notices me. Makes jokes, thanks me, asks my opinion. Then he listens to me, and he’s lonely, so I’m going to invite him to come down to the sea wall with me so we can enjoy some ice cream. Nothing could go wrong, right?
Peter
I hear you’re a big shot. Is that true?
So the press says. I make big movies that rake in big bucks so I’m not hurting financially. And I get accolades. But the critical success was years ago. For the past while, I’ve been focusing on big over-the-top movies. I’m in Vancouver to shoot a very intimate indie movie. Except I just got a huge shock. That female co-star I was supposed to work with? She’s been replaced. By no less than Cole Hamilton.
And how do you feel about that?
Well, I’ve been in the closet my entire life. I just spent ten years in a relationship with a big-shot producer who had no interest in coming out. He recently died, and although I’m grieving, I’m also angry that he was never willing to publicly acknowledge our relationship. Here I am, still in the closet, and now I’ve been cast in a gay romance movie—with one of the hottest leading men in the world as my lead. And Cole is handsome. That being said, another man has caught my eye. Thomas, the production assistant. There’s something endearing about him. He’s sweet and kind. He also has a smokin’ hot ass and it’s so inappropriate for me to be thinking of him that way because he’s the crew.
Why not have a fling?
Tempting. I’ve been grieving for months and I’m so lonely. Like I said, he’s part of the crew. And I’m not even sure he’s gay, although I’ve caught him checking me out in a way that makes me think he’s interested. I think he’s planning to ask me out because he feels sorry for me. Can you believe that? Except he’s right, I am alone and a nice night out in anonymity would be great. If he asks, I think I’ll go.
Catch a Tiger by the Tail
Blurb:
Thomas Walsh knows the number one rule in the film industry. Don’t get involved with the talent. But resisting the urge to take the big screen to the bedroom can be hell when the lead actor on the set looks good enough to eat…one slow lick at a time.
Peter Erickson’s latest role as a gay man hits a little too close to home. He’s still in the closet and secretly grieving the death of his lover. Then an enchanting production assistant catches his eye, and he’s surprised by the instant attraction that stirs more than his wounded soul.
When the two men are caught on camera in a very intimate pose, both Thomas and Peter are afraid they’ve caught a tiger by the tail.
Tagline: Breaking the rules can be so delicious…

Heading to the food table, I snagged a mug and poured from the carafe. I was adding the cane sugar Cole loved when Peter walked through the door.
A moment suspended in time. The men caught sight of each other at the same time, and everything seemed to fall away.
Cole moved first, holding open his arms, apparently unafraid of rejection. Not that he needed to worry. Peter stepped into the embrace as if it were the most natural thing in the world. He wound his arms around Cole’s waist and allowed himself to be enfolded into a hug. Not a bro-hug but a true, deep, and meaningful embrace.
I swore Peter sagged into the hold, as there wasn’t an inch of space between the two men.
Cole grasped the back of Peter’s head, tugging the man even closer, if that was possible.
In front of me was perhaps the most erotic thing I’d ever seen. Oh, I’d seen plenty of people hugging. For the most part, despite the chill across the industry about respecting personal space, consensual affection still took place. But this was much more than that. An intimacy existed between the two men that I rarely saw. It reminded me of my parents when I was growing up. Two people completely in tune with each other, sharing a closeness that was more of fairy tales than real life.
“Stop gaping.”
Janine’s hiss was directly in my ear, and no one else could hear it, but it brought me to attention. Well, that wasn’t the only part of me coming to attention. My cock had taken notice of the scene. As romantic as it’d been, an undercurrent of sex permeated. Probably just my imagination, but I tugged at my jeans and gave my prick a stern talking to.
The men finally broke apart, but Cole held tight to Peter’s head. Leaning over, he pressed a kiss to the shorter man’s forehead. “Nice to meet you.”
Meet?
Hell, I’d assumed they were former lovers. I mean, I understand acting. I get that. But the intimacy had been palpable—it’d permeated the room. And had been all for show.
Peter feathered his hand through Cole’s hair. “Glad to finally make your acquaintance.”

Nicely done, sweet interview!
The heat of the story comes through in this interview and excerpt, as well as the stakes. I think I’m in love with the characters already, even though they don’t play for “my team”.
I’ve heard so many good things about this book. It’s definitely on my TBR list.
This sounds really sweet as well as hot. The emotional aspect is already there and my interest is piqued as they don’t know where the other one stands.
Congratulations on your release, Gabi! Love the cover.
