Friend-zone: a place where feelings are buried after they aren’t returned.
Solomon yearned to be more than Brody’s best friend. But when there was no hope of Brody feeling the same way, Solomon took his place in the friend-zone and stayed there for thirteen years.
Serial dating was only ever a sport to Brody, but even then, he sucked at it. No matter who he went out with, something was always missing. Perhaps what he’s missing is the man who’d been standing beside him for the last twenty years.
Feelings can only stay buried so long before they surface.
Were Brody and Solomon always meant to be together? Or will giving into their feelings transform their friendship completely?
Undeniably Yours is a contemporary gay romance. It has adult language, and situations meant for an audience over eighteen years of age.
REVIEW:
IF you are looking for a sweet romantic friends-to-lovers story, this is definitely the one for you. But I will warn you, you better bring the tissues. Because these boys will make you cry.
Brody and Solomon have been best friends since they were little. They came out to each other first, they did things together like they were attached at the hip, and honestly, everyone already thought they were a couple. The problem was, Solomon deeply wished it were true, but Brody was clueless. Until after a bad string of dates, he asks Solomon to cruise a bar with him. And got jealous when he saw Solomon talking to another guy and enjoying it. Instead of asking who it was, he jumped to conclusions, got wasted and acted like a butt. And Solomon left to be hurt again. But Brody was starting to see Solomon differently and it was time to poo or get off the pot. But he was scared, because if something happened between them, he didn’t want to lose his best friend. But they started dating anyway, and it wasn’t until Brody stuck his foot in his mouth several times, that he realized, he may have truly lost the one person he loves more than life itself. But how can he fix it? And will Solomon forgive him one more time?
Woooo these boys. They were killing me in this one. Killing me. I wanted to reach in and shake them both at times. Especially Brody. Clueless. And with the way he kept hurting Solomon and not even realizing he was doing it, broke my heart so bad. Being so close as they are, I don’t get why you can’t see when you hurt them. But sometimes we are so focused on ourselves, we miss what has been there all along. Thank goodness Brody was starting to figure things out. But he really needed to get rid of that foot-to-mouth disease he had going on. But I love these two regardless. The bond they have is so special. And you can tell how much they really do care about each other. Even if they both are clueless sometimes. And it shows how much they know and care about each other because they know what it takes to make it right. The right things. The little things that only come from years of intimacy as friends, lovers, or whatever. And they had it in spades. It didn’t mean life was going to always be perfect, but because they had such a background, it helped tremendously to move to that next stage.
This was such a sweet book. Made me cry like a baby several times, but it’s so worth it.
