REVIEW:
WOW! This took a turn I was soooooo not expecting. I am still in shock after reading it. But man it made for one HECK of a story. This one will blow you away.
If you have read the other 3, then you know what’s going on and who they are trying to catch. If you haven’t read the first 3, then you need to before going on any further. They need to be read in order or you will be totally lost.
They’ve been after Martin, the serial bomber, for a while, and he slipped through their fingers again. But now, Luca has a big problem and they have to rush to Miami. When they get there, Luca is in for the bombshell of his own life, as everything he’s ever known has been turned upside down. And now, it’s not just Kane with a threat to his life. It’s Luca and his family. But even more so, they are going to have to make a deal with a few devils in order to get through what they need to and get to safety. But safety is just an illusion right now. As Luca soon finds out. And Kane has to rush to save the man he loves, before they all end up hurt….or worse.
I love how far Kane has come from book 1. He and Luca still have a few hotheaded moments, but it’s not because they don’t love each other. Quite the opposite. It’s that Kane has seen the worst of this job, in many different ways and he’s just trying to protect all he loves. The problem is, they are both hardheaded and stubborn. They have learned they need to communicate to get through things, and it’s hard when neither really wants to be the first to topple. But they know they have to. In order to make it through all they are about to endure, they have to have each other’s backs. And they do. Life has just taken things to a whole new level. And it’s hard on all of them. Especially considering the extra bombshell that has been dropped in their laps. But as scary and hard as it is, I love that they lean on each other and have finally gotten to the place where they know what they need from each other to get through.
This has been one heck of a story. If this is the end, I’m definitely sad. And it feels like an ending. The thrills and mysteries, the chases and surprises. It’s been one heck of a ride that I’m glad I got to go on. It’s got everything I love in a book, as far as the thrills and chills. And I really want to look into the other series and see what’s going on there. Patricia Logan is quickly becoming another one click for me and I’m so glad I’ve got to be a part of these worlds.
