As far as I can tell I don’t have a submissive bone in my body. So why do I like it so much when Marshall calls me his good puppy?
I’ve made some impulsive decisions in my life, but signing a contract with the K Boys to shoot an Introduction to Kink series may have been the biggest impulse ever. Sure, the intimate part of it doesn’t faze me, but the rest is way more intense than I had expected.
Luckily, there’s Marshall, the consultant who oversees all the shoots. He’s so calm and steady, and he’s there for me when I panic. That doesn’t mean I suddenly like being tied up or something…until Marshall introduces me to puppy play. I want to be his good puppy…and much more because it’s hard not to fall for him.
But I still have a contract. I don’t want to disappoint my boss, and I need the money.
This isn’t a long-term career plan, Marshall is only temporarily in Vegas, and I may have made the biggest mistake of my life… Or have I?
REVIEW:
A Daddy Dom and a Sub who doesn’t take orders very well!
I admit, I am not very knowledgeable about “kinks.” What I know are from what I have read and a little research while reading a particular book with a particular kink. So please bear with me if somewhere along the review I might sound ignorant.
This is book two of the Kinky Boys series, which is a spin-off from the Ballsy Boys series. Its main characters are those who comprise the new company that will open in Las Vegas. The series consists of those who consider themselves Doms and Subs, experienced or non-experienced, and Daddies who are there to make sure that everyone acting the kinks onscreen are being sane, safe and protected. The show is going to be about kinks whose target are those viewers who are thinking of trying this alternative lifestyle.
When Marshall was invited by Hunter to join him in Vegas as a Consultant for the Gay Porn company which will specialize in kinks, he was glad of the chance to be a part of something new, likewise a chance to leave New York, to start over someplace else.
Byron, who goes by Ziggy, is a first-time porn star. A teacher by profession, he was put in a compromising situation by his ex-boyfriend that he got fired from his teaching job. Now almost bankrupt, Ziggy was recommended by Rebel for this job. He is to be paired with Harley, a Dom. He has done two scenes with Harley but he doesn’t understand why he feels uncomfortable. He likes Harley enough. So when Marshall tries to help him by bringing him to a BDSM club so he can witness the different kinks at play, he accepts. Also after his second scene with Harley, his discomfort was so obvious to Marshall that they ended up meeting at Marshall’s apartment to try something out and just to unwind.
According to Google, “Puppy Play” is a subset of BDSM culture that involves a person or persons taking on the “primal” role and mentality of a canine and exploring nonhuman desires and headspace via that experience. After witnessing Ziggy so happy interacting with a pup in the club, Marshall thought they could try it out on their own and see how Ziggy reacts to it. And he loves it. He follows the commands happily which then leads to them doing it onscreen. And then after having a talk with Daddy Hunter, he is now to be paired with Marshall instead of Harley. Marshall is not a porn star but he is willing to do it for Ziggy.
But the crux of it all is that Marshall is staying in Vegas for only six months and he really can’t see himself living there for longer than that. His family, his friends, and his life are in New York. Before he leaves, he gives Ziggy a collar that signifies more than just a mere symbol for a Pup and His Master. But what does this mean for their relationship? Will there still be one?
I am still learning more about the different kinks that people choose to do and reading this book has given me a clear insight into the Puppy Play kink. I am beginning to understand the reasons why people are choosing to have this alternative lifestyle. It is a way for them to let go, a way for them to release stress, from work and from life. It is a way for them to let someone else make decisions for them. It takes a lot of trust to be able to do this, and that has to be present in order for them to feel that they can lose their control.
For those readers who are interested in learning about kinks, this series is a good way to start. It eases you in and it does not overwhelm with so much information. I found this book very sweet and very enlightening. Thank you to both Ms. K.M. Neuhold and Ms. Nora Phoenix for this spin-off series.
