He hated me from the second he laid eyes on me, and I don’t have the first clue why… But, if he wants to hate me, I’m happy to give him a few reasons: mowing the lawn at dawn on the weekend, leaving garbage cans in front of his driveway, renting a petting zoo for my backyard…making a list of ways to drive him crazy is half the fun.
He deserves it with the way he’s driving me crazy right back without even trying— walking around without a shirt on, sweaty rippling muscles on full display, well-worn denim jeans perfectly molded to his…well, you get the idea.
My point is, if he wants a war, I’ll give him one.
REVIEW:
Nailed is book two of the Four Bears Construction series which consists of four bears who are best friends who decided to jointly form a company that does construction business. This second book focuses on Stone, the second bear whose story we are going to learn in this installment.
The fear of being brokenhearted is valid and very tangible! It can further cause someone to become hopeless, lonely and desperate at times. The need to be accepted and loved for who you are is something that a lot of us look for, but only a few are lucky to have.
Stone just bought a house, which is a work-in-progress, just the way he likes it. On the day he moved in, he sees his neighbor, which for unknown reason/s seems to dislike him on sight. He vows to make his neighbor’s life a living hell because of it.
Dare thinks his new neighbor is homophobic. On the day his neighbor moved in, he heard something that certainly makes him think that way. When his neighbor came over to introduce himself, Dare was very rude to him. From then on, his neighbor made it his mission to annoy him whenever he could.
But when things got cleared up, they start to get to know each other, albeit reluctantly from both sides and with still unresolved anger issues. Pretty soon, they both began to want something more which makes Dare really terrified.
For two men in their forties not to be in a stable relationship in this stage make them think that maybe this is what’s meant for them – being single and nothing more. But this could also be their chance for that elusive relationship. Sometimes bad things happened in our past that may make us wary of the future, what it holds, loneliness, and heartache. But taking a chance at something that could prove to be what you have been looking for all this time could be worth the risk. Because it could also be your chance at love and happiness.
A very sweet story of love between two men who are already set in their ways thus a little wary of finding the relationship that have eluded them up till this time. I love the fact that our main characters are a little older, but a little naive as well. I love how they navigated their hook-ups, angry sex, dating and ultimately, feelings of “love!” This series is turning out to be sweet and full of self-discoveries.
