Can Frank find Rand before it’s too late?
The Crossroads Series consists of four books. All are scorchingly hot and blend mystery/suspense, romance and at times, the paranormal.
REVIEW:
So, again, the plot is great. I love the murder mystery part of this story and it’s great, but there are some things going on again between Rand and Frank that are crossing a line I’m not happy about.
The murder mystery part is so good. In this one, Frank has been having visions for some days and they are not fully clear in most of the things, except that there is another serial killer and this time it’s connected to Rand somehow. Well, with Rand dropping behind in his studies, he’s worried and upset already, to add that he knows Rand has exchanged weed for alcohol, is making him madder. But now the FBI wants his help again to figure this out. They just don’t want to hear the truth of what Frank is trying to tell them. And when Rand disappears, Frank is in a race against time to find him before he’s the next victim. And save himself as well. Because a blast from the past has come back to haunt Frank and he may not make it to Rand in time because of the danger he’s in himself.
When you read the actual story and forget what’s going on between Frank and Rand, I friggin love this story. I really do. It’s such a good murder mystery, and Frank’s paranormal senses. It just makes for an amazing story. However, again, Frank and Rand’s relationship, if you can call it that, has taken a dangerous turn and not in a good way. BDSM is a part of this book. As far as I can tell, it probably will be a part of all of them. The problem is, Frank is a cross between a dom and a father to Rand. And I don’t mean daddy, I mean actual father figure. Even though he doesn’t look at him that way. If you look at it from the dom side, then their relationship would be ok, IF it was actually consensual. And an erection, does not mean it is. There should also be a contract of some sort. Whether verbal or written. And for Rand’s sake, written. And a safeword. Frank is pulling Rand into a world he’s not used to in several different ways. It’s making their relationship screwed up and is going to do more damage to Rand in the long run. And it doesn’t matter if Frank loves him or not. He’s in the wrong.
I hope you guys can skip over those parts of Frank and Rand and get to the meat of the story, because that part is dynamic. I really love it. I hate skipping over parts of stories, but I’m having to at this point because of how I feel about those aspects, but the murder mystery part is off the charts. It really is. I hope you guys like it like I do.
