These opposites certainly attract, but will their differences be enough to keep them apart or will they find a way to come together in Cedarwood?
Bobby Gagnon came back to town in the hopes of starting over. He’s got his kids and his accounting business, but he wants more. One look at the hot guy sharing the running trail with him is enough to stoke Bobby’s fire. He wants to hook up with the sexy runner, but he doesn’t even know the guy’s name. Will the man even want to be with a single father?
Remy Nicholas never considered himself a kid person or parent material. He’s happy with his job at the Cedarwood Tribune, but it’s not enough. Something’s always been missing from his life. He keeps seeing the same guy at the park—tall, dark, handsome, and hot as hell in those running shorts. Although he’s shy, Remy isn’t about to let this guy get away without at least one night together.

Reader advisory: This book contains homophobia and homophobic attacks. There are references of parental neglect and to past emotional abuse/manipulation of the main character’s children.
REVIEW:
First and foremost, pay close, close attention to the advisory in the blurb. This is no joke, whatsoever, and if it’s a trigger for you, you need to be careful. This is a tough story to read at times, but in the end it’s worth it.
Bobby and Remy both have had some bad experiences with exes that have left them leery of anyone as far as a relationship. It’s been so bad with Bobby as far as his kids as well. And Bobby doesn’t even know the extent of how it involves his kids yet. And with Remy, he’s sworn he’d never get involved with someone that has kids. Yet, here they are attracted to each other. But everyone seems determined to break them up somehow. Even themselves. Between the coalition, the exes and their own hangups, it seems like it’s going to be doomed before it starts. But when an attack on Remy occurs, everyone is fully fed up and it’s time to fight back. But will it be enough or is it going to get worse? And how is it going to affect Remy and Bobby and the kids?
This was a hard story. This I think was one of the worst as far as the coalition is concerned. But I love that everyone is fed up and deciding it’s time to take a stand. They don’t have to be violent about it. There are ways they can fight back without resorting to that, and they are. I get so sick of people thinking they have the right to hurt others because they feel entitled or superior to others that are different. I have news for those morons, you aren’t any different than the rest of us. And as it was proved at one point in the story, one coalitioner was ‘sinning’ as much as he was judging others for. Pot meet kettle. But even with all the crap going on, even between Remy and Bobby, they were trying. They were trying to talk. And heck, Remy was making a great dad. He was talking to the kids on their level and was being himself. He wasn’t trying to impress them, so to speak. I mean he was because he wanted them to like him, but other than that, that wasn’t important to him. It was more important they were happy and safe. Perfect dad material right there.
No one is a perfect parent. No one has a perfect relationship. We’re human, we’re going to make mistakes. But we can’t let fear keep us from trying. Or fear of the unknown. Remy was scared as far as kids, but he’s a natural. They were both scared and at some point said things that shouldn’t have been said because of their exes. But they were trying to talk it out, which is super super important and make things work. And the most important, they were including the kids in the decisions. That made this book for me.
