I hope everyone is continuing to keep safe, and that you and yours are okay. We’ve just moved into level 2 here in New Zealand. Schools have returned and businesses have opened, but with safety measures and contact tracing in place. I went back to work on Friday, but moving forward will be working two days on site—one of which we’re closed, and the other will be back room stuff. The rest of the week I’ll be working from home. They’ve been very supportive over the fact I’ve been able to start visiting Mum in the home again, hence the measures to limit interaction with the public.
I’ve achieved far more than I thought I would while in lockdown, although I wish it was under better circumstances. I’m 56K into Double Exposure so hoping to have the first draft of that done in about 4-5 chapters. I’m also working through edits for the new edition of Shadowboxing, and just sent Family and Reflection to my editor for a polish.
The new editions of The Sleepless City will be releasing from July, which I’m very excited about. Shades of Sepia will be followed by Elizabeth Noble’s Electric Candle in August, with Family and Reflection and Shifting Chaos, in September and October respectively.
Lou Sylvre and I have also returned edits for our Scottish Historical Fantasy The Harp and the Sea to our lovely editor at NineStar Press, so hopefully not long before we have a cover and a release date to share for that story. I’ve loved being able to work with her to tell Ian and Robbie’s story.
Meantime as I’m working on edits for Shadowboxing, the first of my WWII Echoes Rising series, I’m sharing the cover for the new edition. TL Bland has done a fabulous job. I’ll share the covers for each book as it enters my editing queue.
Coming soon from LaceDragon Publishing:
Echoes Rising Book 1
Berlin, 1943.
An encounter with an old friend leaves German physicist Dr Kristopher Lehrer with doubts about his work. But when he confronts his superior, everything goes horribly wrong. Suddenly Kristopher and Michel, a member of the Resistance, are on the run, hunted for treason and a murder they did not commit. If they’re caught, Kristopher’s knowledge could be used to build a terrible weapon that could win the war.
For the team sent by the Allies—led by Captain Bryant, Sergeant Lowe, and Dr Zhou—a simple mission escalates into a deadly game against the Gestapo, with Dr Lehrer as the ultimate prize. But in enemy territory, surviving and completing their mission will test their strengths and loyalties and prove more complex than they ever imagined.
Meantime I’d love to see some of you in my readers group and/or signing up for my newsletter.
You really were productive if you got all that done. That’s awesome!
Thanks! Not having to go into the muggle job makes a huge difference
