Chapter 3
The Interview
Jordan was pleasantly surprised Victor’s car was already there when he pulled into the lot behind the building where the All Cocks offices were housed. Coffee and bagels in hand, he hurried inside, winking at Cassie as he handed her the Venti Frappuccino he grabbed for her at Starbucks. She giggled and thanked him before jumping up and opening the door for him. Jordan made his way to Victor’s office with the tray of steaming paper cups of delicious java. Hopefully the five hundred flyers they’d left throughout the city the previous day would bring in at least a dozen or so prospects, and Jordan could cut back on the weekly shoots. It was getting harder to juggle his responsibilities at the office with shooting scenes and his class schedule.
Victor grunted a thank-you to Jordan when he handed him his coffee, never taking his eyes off the computer in front of him. Andrew was across the hall, getting another room set up for some informal interviews, getting the camera and lighting the way he liked it. Jordan walked over and cleared his throat, holding Andrew’s coffee out in front of him. “Oh, thank you, I needed that.” Andrew sighed happily, grabbing it and gulping half the contents in just a few gulps. Jordan laughed as he turned and went down the hall to his office located next to the main lobby area.
This wasn’t their first rodeo; after the past couple of years tweaking it, they had the interview process perfected. The men applying were made to feel comfortable and relaxed, enabling whoever was meeting with them to get an accurate read on their personality as well. Cassie would greet them and hand out the clipboards with stacks of official documents they needed from every applicant. Then Jordan would meet with them in the small office next to the lobby that held a couple of overstuffed chairs, a coffee table, and some random pictures and crap hanging on the walls to make the room look lived-in. It usually set the newcomers’ minds at ease if they were face-to-face with someone that was working the industry from the start. And to be honest, Jordan enjoyed the interactions.
Jordan dropped his backpack and jacket off in the lounge and was heading down the hall again when Cassie opened the main door, clipboard in hand, announcing the first would-be new star for All Cocks had arrived. By lunchtime they’d talked to four guys, and Victor had hired two of them on the spot: Kory, a twenty-one-year-old with a chip on his shoulder and a brooding, sexy, stubborn thing about him that Victor loved. And William, a big, burly, hairy alpha male type that had even Andrew drooling on his camera lens, until he found out the guy was a big nelly bottom. Jordan almost choked on his Red Bull at that affirmation. But Victor loved the diversity he could bring to the business, so they hired him.
The other two, though, they were a couple of gems. One guy freaked out and ran when Andrew asked him to take his shirt off, and the other looked like a tweaked-out twink. Super skinny, jittery, and his cock was the tiniest thing Andrew thought he’d ever seen. They weren’t above hiring skinny guys, or twinks, or guys with smaller packages, but this guy was not porn-star material by any means. Not to mention, Victor was certain the guy was just looking for something to make easy money for his next fix, and he was adamant with all his models—All Cocks was a drug-free environment.
Jordan opened the door to the lobby to tell Cassie he was going to take fifteen for a quick lunch when a cute blond who was fidgeting in one of the chairs caught his attention. Hearing the door open, Cutie’s head jerked up, and Jordan could see the apprehension in his brown-eyed gaze. Lord, if ever there was a visual for deer in the headlights, this kid was it. Jordan slowly walked toward him, certain if he walked too fast, Cutie would turn and bolt for the door. “Hi, I’m Jordan. You here to interview for the modeling job?” He smiled and extended his hand.
The hesitation and uncertainty in the young guy’s eyes were almost endearing. Cutie blew out a breath, running shaky fingers through his hair as he stood and took Jordan’s hand in his. “Hi. I’m M…Matthew.” Cutie choked on the words, clearing his throat. Jordan didn’t know if it was nerves or a stutter, which would only make the guy that much more appealing.
Jordan turned to Cassie. “Did Matthew here fill out all his paperwork?” Cassie nodded, handing him the clipboard. “Excellent.” He turned his attention back to Matthew. “Right this way, let’s get you started.” Jordan held his arm out, motioning for Matthew to walk in front of him. Cutie stood, frozen in place for several long, awkward moments before ducking his head and scurrying through the door.
Haven’t read much of those.
