Davey’s revised rule nyumber one: A good Daddy will love his boy with all his heart.
Davey Hendrickson doesn’t mind being forever single when he’s got his bestie at his side. It’s not that he wants to be single. He’s spent most of his adult life searching for his own perfect Daddy. Even if he’s not naturally submissive, someone that fabulous is obviously meant to be a boy…right? Over the years, he’s dated every type of Daddy imaginable but not one of them could come close to meeting the requirements from his ridiculous list of rules.
After losing his husband, Sammy Robustelli has learned to be strong while raising two children on his own. No matter what life has thrown his way, nothing seems too hard with his best friend and roomie Davey at his side. When the two friends learn that people believe they’re a couple, they can’t help but laugh. The very idea is a big joke…until it isn’t.
It only takes a few wake-up calls before Davey wonders what happens if a guy might be in love with the best friend he can never have. It could never work for a pair of boys in need of a bossy top, right? Except…maybe Davey doesn’t know himself – or Sammy – as well as he thinks.
This is the final book in a series about not-so-perfect Daddies, adorable “boys”, and one sassy brat with an insane list of rules. Grab your fan and tissues because this series comes with both a high heat advisory and all the squishy feels you’d want from a Susan Hawke book.
REVIEW:
I think one of the best relationships we can see working are those couples who started out as friends first. When we have been friends with our other halves before we had a relationship with them, it signifies knowing each other beyond the superficial. Especially if we have been friends with them for so many years, it means we already know as much about them as they know themselves. So if the day comes that we want to bring the relationship to the next level, then there will be less surprises compared to if we were not friends beforehand. Well, this is just my own opinion anyway.
They have been best friends for so long. Sammy is big and strong, built like someone who works out every chance he gets. After losing his husband, he had to balance raising his two children while managing a business. Having his best friend and roommate, Davey, beside him means all the world to Sammy. He couldn’t have done all this alone!
Davey started out as a bartender in Sammy’s husband’s business, when Sammy’s husband was still alive. Ever since meeting Sammy, there is this kinship that made them become fast friends. Now years later, that friendship is as strong as ever, even stronger. They are literally raising two children together. Either one could not imagine doing all these things without the other.
Unbeknownst to them, but all their friends see it, they are like a married couple who do things together like any normal couple would. Aside from that, people have been assuming that they are a couple. When they felt that it was time for Sammy to put himself out there again, they tried to get on dates. But Sammy can’t seem to stop thinking and talking about Davey when he is on these dates.
Now Sammy has always been a boy, a submissive. Davey thought he was too. Until he was told that his nature belies what he truly is, a Daddy! Size does not really matter in role play or in what you want, it is the attitude and the need that would.
Mr. Michael Dean impressed me with the differences in the way he voiced Sammy, Davey and even SJ, the consistency is awesome! A sassy Davey is so much fun, I can’t describe the joy I feel just listening to him sass his way into his scenes in the book. The story always becomes more alive, vibrant when turned into audio, and this audiobook is no exception. A beautiful ending to a beautiful love story between best friends who became the best halves of a whole. Congratulations!
