I want to give a big thank you to Love Bytes for having me back to talk about my new release, Jasper’s ~ Takoda Outreach Center Book 1. I want to take this opportunity as well to thank Morningstar Ashley with Designs by Morningstar for working her magic and creating a cover that so perfectly matches the feel of this series. It’s my pleasure to share my inspiration for Jasper, an excerpt from Jasper’s perspective, along with a giveaway for a $10 Amazon gift card.
Inspiration ~
I met a beautiful young soul a few years ago, and that meeting has stayed with me. He was homeless and in need at the time, but his face lit up as we talked, and my daughters and I walked away feeling like we were the ones who had been blessed. When I decided to write this series, our conversation flashed through my mind, and Jasper was born.
The next thing I knew, Caleb swept me off my feet and threw me over his shoulder so that my head hung right in front of his big, sweet ass. “Caleb.”
“You keep complaining that I’m not moving fast enough, so I guess I better turn it up,” he teased, smacking me on the ass as he jogged toward his room. We’d kept our make-out sessions pretty much on the couch or when he stopped me in the hall or on the stairs to steal a kiss. The toe-curling way his tongue explored my mouth each night before I went to bed had become the scenes that wooed me to sleep at night. As he laid me out on his bed, he followed me down, his lips already on mine stealing my breath. “Better?”
“Yes, more.”
His husky laugh tickled my ear as he nibbled on it, and then he moved down my neck. The feel of his hands crawling up under my shirt spurred me to action, and I moved my own up under his to feel that tantalizing flesh that teased me each time I saw him with no shirt on. It was warm and hard and soft, and I wondered if the day would ever come where I’d stop marveling that this man wanted me.
Caleb scooted up onto his knees, bracketing me in. “Lift up, baby.” I rose enough for him to lift my shirt up over my head, then giggled at the way he chucked it behind him. Then he stopped.
“Is everything okay?”
He trailed a finger across my stomach, his eyes following the motion as he circled my belly button before meeting my gaze. Eyes like liquid chocolate stared into mine, penetrating my soul. “I wanted you from the minute I saw you.”
Butterflies took flight in my belly as my flesh heated under his scrutiny. “You did?”
His finger began its trail again, stroking lightly over my hardness. “Oh yeah. So much. And then you hated me.”
A sound between a giggle and a groan exploded from my own mouth, startling me. “I never hated you. I thought you were hot, maybe a little dumb about the people coming in to eat, and definitely way out of my league.”

Jasper’s helpful, mysterious… and homeless.
The soup kitchen was the only place I’d felt like I belonged in months, but working under the new, renowned chef had me doubting there was truly a place for me anywhere. He was nice enough, but he really didn’t “get” the people he was cooking for or the battles we faced. But my feelings didn’t matter, I had no home and my options were limited.
Caleb’s talented, successful… and clueless.
I wished I could say I’d pushed to be the main cook at Takoda Outreach Center out of selflessness, but that would be a lie. I knew my parents would never lower themselves to walk into a place like this, and I was counting on that. I was sick of being the perfect son, the celebrated chef—the price was too high, and now I had no social life and no idea who I was. And then I met Jasper, the sweet selfless younger man who opened my eyes to life’s harsher realities.
Just when Jasper thinks he’s found a way to make it through the winter unscathed by the elements, the shelter he’s found is ripped away. When Caleb offers him sanctuary, Jasper accepts the older man’s help.
Will Caleb’s questions about his past send him running back to the streets or has Jasper finally found the place he belongs?
Takoda Outreach Center: When you’re holding hope in the palm of your hand… Deliciously sweet stories of finding your happily ever after where you least expected it.
About Sammi Cee~
Sammi Cee was raised in a family of readers. Summer vacations consisted of a good book while sitting lakeside from as far back as she could remember. After growing up and having her own children, her appreciation of how the written word could transport you on an adventure, bring you to tears, or give you hope, took on a whole new meaning.
These days Sammi is watching her children develop into fine young ladies while doing the things she enjoys most: drinking coffee, eating chocolate, and writing her own stories.
