REVIEW:
A really good start to this series I think. It’s sweet, romantic, and a friends to lovers story that just makes you either want to shake them or go awwwwww.
Jory and Darius have been best friends for years. They have no problem with physical affection. Heck, everyone thinks they’re together, even though neither of them have a clue. Well, Jory knows he’s in love with Darius and has been since they’ve met. But he thinks all Darius wants him as is his best friend. But more and more, Jory wants a family and to settle down. So he comes up with a plan. If he can’t have Darius himself, he can at least have Darius’s baby. If Darius agrees. And he does. But what Darius doesn’t expect is how good it is between them. And how much Darius has realized he wants more from Jory than just friends. And maybe always has. But how to tell Jory that things have changed.
It really is a sweet story. These two have such a special friendship. And yes, Jory is in love with Darius and Darius is without a clue that he is, but their friendship is still so special. They support each other, they have no problem with expressing how they feel to each other, to a point. It’s just the perfect relationship. I could understand Jory’s hesitance at first, at wanting to tell Darius what he wants. He doesn’t want to lose Darius in any way, but he wants Darius for more than just a friend. And if friendship is all he can have, at least he will have a piece of both of them in their child. But like I said, I get why he’s a tad hesitant. It’s scary to try to move that kind of relationship to the next level when you aren’t sure. But it works out. At first it’s hard. The hormones, coming off suppressants. It confuses things. Feelings are a bit hurt, because instead of talking, they are lost in a fog of lust. But once they talk, they realize what it is they both want out of life. And they have to learn to talk.
It’s really a sweet story. I think it will be an interesting series, if this is the start of it.
