REVIEW:
I am a big fan of this series. I have read every book since the first and none have disappointed. This is quite a short book, but it manages to move the story on a great deal. The book definitely isn’t a standalone and I don’t believe it’s readable without any knowledge of the story so far.
Caleb and John are one of my favourite couples of all time and I would follow them no matter what, although I very much doubt this series will crash and burn anytime soon. I am, as always, anxiously awaiting the next book.
If I have one complaint about this book is that I found the events at the Center For Loving Redemption somewhat confusing. I have a clear idea about what was going on there, but not John’s part in it. I understand that the general situation surrounding this is highly complex, and I have taken that into consideration, however, although I have followed the twists and turns until now, I am having a hard time with that particular point. I hope this will be clarified in later books, but for now, I remain in the dark.
The book is as well written as the previous in the series, and I was happy to see one of my favourite secondary characters return. Each book moves the plot alone and I like, in particular, books that have completed story arcs as well as forward movement on the overarching arc. This book has a nice little compact story that was short, but fully formed and well rounded. This impresses me.
On the whole, I enjoyed this book as much as all the previous in the series. If it hadn’t been for the slight confusion that I found frustrating, I would have given a 5, and anyone who follows my reviews knows 5 stars are rare.
