REVIEW:
This was a pretty good little story. Nothing like mermen to spice up the story.
Camryn is heartbroken when he’s kicked out of his band, Low Down, for being gay and apparently too quiet. When he’s sulking on his balcony on the cruise ship, he begins to sing. And a voice harmonizes with him. He looks everywhere for the voice and finally notices a being in the water. Thinking someone went overboard, he does all he can to find the man. And finds a surprise instead. Rian, a prince of the merfolk, knows he just found his soulmate. Someone that shares his song. But in order to keep him, he has to show Camryn his world. But someone else is jealous and wanting a piece of the royal line and does all he can to sabotage Camryn to make him run. But Rian isn’t going to give up that easy. He will find his heart and hope that Camryn is willing to make the same sacrifices that Rian would for him.
It’s a cute little story. Merman finding the human of his dreams. Man finding his dream in a mystical being. The stuff made of fantasies. I felt for Camryn. I wanted to punch everyone in his band, even the ones who were supposed to be his friend. They all ganged up against him and kicked him out. And then dared to want him back when things didn’t go the way they planned. So I was happy he found someone else, merman or not, who would appreciate his song, his voice and all he has to give. He’s a selfless man. Willing to make sure Rian knows what he would do for him. Rian has become important to him quickly and he would do anything for him. It just feels right. No matter what anyone would say. It’s not too fast for them, when everything is finally right with their worlds. And it says a lot that both are ready to give up everything they are and have for each other.
