“Checking to ensure the king was dead, his murderer pulled the dagger from the monarch and rolled Zachary’s body onto its back. The king’s blood coated the ornate etchings on both sides of the knife. His dead eyes looking up toward the heavens, Zachary lay lifelessly on the tower floor.” -Chapter One
The shocking murder of King Zachary Chamberlain sends his entire family and kingdom into turmoil as the hunt for his killer begins. As Zachary’s eldest son Prince Tobias prepares to be crowned as the new king, suspicions arise between him and his three younger brothers. In the meantime, the once-ruling Henderson family seizes on the chaos in the kingdom in an effort to overthrow the Chamberlains and retake control.
As tensions rise and the search for the king’s murderer continues, some relationships crumble, forbidden love flourishes, a prisoner escapes, and a common farmer rocks the royal family to its core.
It all leads up to an exciting series of cliffhangers that plunge every member of the royal Chamberlain family into peril.

REVIEW:
This was one book that I’m having a hard time reviewing. First, I must warn you, it is not just MM. It is also MF and good grief, everyone is sleeping with everyone. So yeah. The reason I gave it a higher rating is because the plot itself was good.
A tyrannical king who is murdered and no one knows who the real murderer is. Family is accusing family, no one trusts anyone. Everyone in the family is having an affair with someone already married, or with someone one of their siblings is sleeping with. Not all of the family is true family, in a sense. And part of the family is in love with people who are considered the enemy. So it’s a good plot. I’m curious as to who the real murderer was originally, because everyone has a motive. Literally everyone. And those who now know of the king’s death are taking advantage of the fact that there is a hitch in plans. They are taking advantage of the fact that there is no king yet, although one is about to be coronated. So everything is up in the air.
Like I said. It’s intriguing because there’s so many who it could be. There are so many with motives. Who knows who originally started all this mess. Could be anyone from the lowest servant to an enemy who is trying to overthrow them. It’s a mess.
