A Ghostly Investigations story
Homeless, Daw has managed to survive on the streets. That is, until a killer throws him off the rooftop where he has crashed for the night and he becomes a ghost.
Luckily Brody Ellis, also a ghost, finds him moments later, and takes him home to meet the rest of the “Ghostie Boys,” who have chosen to remain in this world.
Because Daw doesn’t know who killed him, the six ghosts put their heads together to find his murderer so he can move on. In the process, they run into Russ, a young acquaintance of Daw’s, who is another of the killer’s victims, and bring him home with them.
Will the ghosts, with some help from their human friends Mike and Sage, be able to stop the killer before he strikes again? More to the point, because of the growing attraction between Daw and Russ, will they want to move on, thus separating them for eternity, if the ghosts can prove who the man was who murdered them?
REVIEW:
What an intriguing story. A murder mystery with a twist. A serial killer targeting homeless and an investigation team you never expected.
Daw has been homeless for a while. Due to abuse from his step-mother, and no help from his father, he felt unsafe. No matter how hard he tried to change things, no one would really help him get a leg up. Now he’s hearing rumors of someone killing homeless and he’s a bit edgy. But in need of relief from the heat, he decides to find somewhere cooler. And right into the hands of a killer. Now Daw is a ghost and is meeting other ghosts who know a medium who’s partners with a cop. And one of the ghosts was a cop himself. And they are making up a team who are going to solve more murders than the ones they have already. And the next one is Daw’s.
This really was a good story. Totally different. Instead of human investigators, you have ghost ones. Ones with nothing to lose and everything to gain. It’s a pretty neat concept. And I really enjoyed it. The characters made the story. And with the way it ended, it sounds like there could be more stories to go along with this. And I’m on board with that. I would like to see what these investigators do next. Because not only do they help solve murders, they take in strays. I hope there will be more of these stories.
