REVIEW:
I really enjoy Pelaam’s work majority of the time, but I have to admit, I was kind of disappointed in this one. I liked it, for a short story, and there was a good lesson in it for sure, but it just wasn’t for me.
Mitchell had to learn in his life what was really important. He gave up so much in his life because of the boyfriend he had, until someone came along to help him. And showed him there was more to life and love than what he was getting. But when Mitchell is beaten by the ex for dumping him, the man he met, Linwood, rescues him. And Mitchell learns things are quite what he thought or what they seemed. And now he’s lost the man he loves as well. But when given the chance to have a different life, all he wanted was Linwood.
It was a hard lesson Mitchell had to learn. He had to go through some really crappy stuff. But he had to learn not to settle for anything less than what he deserved. And he deserved to be treated with love and respect. Not cheated on or treated like dirt. He also had to learn that the grass isn’t always greener and money and fame aren’t all it’s cracked up to be. He learned what was truly important. And that was that life was nothing without his loved ones. Sometimes we have to go through bad stuff to learn what we need to learn. It sucks but sometimes it’s what we need.
