BLURB:
Escape with Leo and Zak in outback Australia as they discover it sometimes takes time, distance, and interfering family to amalgamate.
After five years of living in the UK, it’s time for Leo to return home to his dad’s stud farm in outback Australia. He has no idea what to expect when he arrives. He didn’t exactly leave with balloons and banners.
Nope. His farewell involved destruction and his own heart split in two.
He knows seeing the man who’s always held his heart, Zak, is going to be awkward. The older farm manager made his feelings pretty damn clear when Leo hightailed it out of there.
Leo quickly figures out life is going to get complicated and a whole heap more exciting as his trip home becomes so much more.
REVIEW:
We make mistakes all the time. Sometimes it is fueled by anger, sometimes by love. Sometimes we can admit it, but sometimes we also don’t know how to. But everybody deserves a second or even a third chance, right?
Leo left Australia after graduating, but his departure was prompted by more than exploring a new country. He didn’t exactly leave in the most happy of circumstances. After five years in London, he is back for a visit.
When we love someone but we know that we have to allow them to spread their wings first, and only then can we tie them down, and that is if they come back. Zak thought he was doing the right thing five years ago when Leo was only twenty-two when he gave him reason to leave (faster) for London to pursue a career. He was just doing the right thing, he never thought that Leo would leave in such a mess.
This story is short but sweet. It has a low level of angst, but is still very integral to the story and quite understandable, really. Growing up and realizing that you are truly in love with the person you had been infatuated all this time is a validation that you can never be too young or too old to realize when you find your true love. Sometimes though you need to spread your wings a little bit before you can truly see that what you had was what you wanted.
Ms. Becca Seymour, this is very very sweet. I love Leo and Zak, and although the story was short, you were able to convey a love story that spanned more.
