Kean York may be recovering from a gunshot wound, but he’ll go to any length to protect a certain stubborn man. After all, Chaze’s life was put in danger because of York…
Or was it?
When emotions run high, information can be overlooked, and Chaze’s instincts are telling him something else is going on.
Something that may not involve him at all.
REVIEW:
US Marshals Service is a federal enforcement unit within the US Department of Justice. It reports to the United States Attorney General. It serves as the enforcement arm of the United States federal courts to ensure the effective operation of the judiciary and the integrity of the Operation. So whenever there are important witnesses of important cases that are being tried by the courts, they will be the ones to ensure the safety of those witnesses with the assistance of the other enforcement agencies.
In this third book of Yours to Protect, we have Chaze Pullman who used to have a hook-up/friends with benefits kind of arrangement with Rio from book one. I think because of his relationship or hook-up with Rio, he has been deemed important by the current Mafia boss. He is now being targeted. The mob is trying to get rid of witnesses who could testify against them. US Marshal Kean York is under US Marshal Gannin West who is also now hiding from the mob with his boyfriend and Private Investigator James Kairo.
So, out of the blue, Chaze is being targeted, he doesn’t understand why when he is not directly involved in their case. So what follows is an official “sort of” protection provided by York who is also recovering from a gunshot wound. They are now holed up together in a safe house. Chaze had to take a leave of absence from work. There is another character in this story that intrigues me though, he is also interested in the photos Chaze took in a park, although Chaze thinks he is a good guy. I would like to see where that part of the story goes.
There were times when the dialogues were harried and straight-to-the-point without more description as to the surrounding circumstances. Call me old-fashioned but I love details, enough details to give me an idea of what the situation is. Also, the protocol on asking information about witnesses and Marshals in hiding is a little easy to retrieve for me, is it really that easy?
The storyline is good, just like the previous books, but maybe more descriptions on the circumstances or situations would be a really great addition.
