Can they find their HEA in Romancelandia?
Chris Tyler loves his job. He photographs some of the hottest guys on the planet, but none stir him like Jase Mitchell. He’ll never let Jase know – he values their friendship too much to spoil it.
Jase is looking forward to the Under The Covers Romance convention. It’s a great opportunity to connect with readers who want to meet their favorite cover model, but more importantly, with agents who could advance his career. Too bad the only person he yearns to connect with is Chris.
What Chris wants is Jase in his life, but he’s afraid that’s sheer fantasy. What Jase desires is a Hollywood dream, but that will mean leaving Chris behind. What both crave is a real-life romance and their own Happily Ever After.
REVIEW:
Well, if you want a super romantic book with some angst, this is definitely the book for you. It is pure romance and intimacy. Just so sweet. There are some moments that are a little tearful, but every relationship has things they have to go through in order to get to the good stuff. It really is a sweet adorable book and I have to say, even though I adore the MCs, one character left his mark with me. And that’s Dean. You will see what I mean when you read this. He is a hoot!
Chris has been a photographer for years and part of his photography is shooting book cover models. He’s been working with Jase for years, wishing they didn’t work together so maybe he could ask the man out. What Chris doesn’t realize is that Jase feels the same way about Chris. But a romance book convention has Jase nervous and Chris takes him under his wing to make him feel more comfortable. But the more time they spend together, the more the chemistry is kicking in and the more they want to be together. Until they can’t stand not being in each other’s arms anymore. But this convention has opened many doors for Jase’s career that he’s always wanted. Chris is so happy and supportive of Jase and tries not to be resentful, until the time apart is becoming longer and longer. And now Jase has to decide what is more important in his life. The movie career he really doesn’t want, or Chris and a possibility of a different career in New York?
I love the chemistry between these two. It’s just not the sex between them, although that’s hot enough. It’s the slow burn of a relationship with them. It’s the intimacy between them, the building of something. The looks, the talking, the support and everything in between. The fact they are not just lovers but friends. But I also understood where Chris was coming from. As much as it broke my heart to think of these two not together, long distance is hard. And if you feel like that both parts aren’t invested in the relationship you’re building, what’s that say about your relationship the longer it goes on. Some people can make it work and I’m amazed by it. I don’t know how they do it. But if you are both making the effort, then maybe you can. And it just may be the way some are wired to be. But for Chris, that wasn’t him. And they had to really choose what was most important to them in their lives. Some may think Chris was selfish, and yeah, maybe he was a little bit. But it was just as hard on him as it was Jase. And until they could really talk face to face, it was never truly going to be resolved.
Communication. I will say it over and over until people get it. It’s always key in ANY relationship. Friendship, lovers or more. If you can’t communicate, it’s going to cause problems and in the end, do more harm than good. Once the lines of communication are open, people can compromise or whatever it is they need to do. And hopefully, you get the HEA you’re looking for.
