BLURB:
Vampires and werewolves are natural enemies. Therefore, Andre has no regrets about killing Raúl, the Alpha of the Wintermane pack, who plans to attack the Crimson Cathedral nightclub, revealing the presence of vampires to the human world.
When Sand learns of his brother’s murder, he debates seeking revenge because he hates Raúl, who backed their father when he forced Sand out of the pack for being gay. Then, he discovers that Estebe, the new Alpha, plans to continue Raúl’s mission.
Things come to a head when Sand, a bodyguard, escorts a client’s daughter to the nightclub and the club’s owner tells Andre to find out why Sand is there. Despite their differences, instant lust drives Andre into Sand’s bed-but not before they agree to work together to stop Estebe.
Can they successfully end Estebe’s existence — and survive? And, will their relationship stand a chance as lust turns to an attraction that defies the belief that they are supposed to be mortal enemies?
REVIEW:
I really like this book, but for me personally, I wished there was a bit more action. I love action, especially when it comes between two different beings. Yeah, maybe I’m morbid lol. But I love what I love. Not that this book isn’t good.
Andre had no choice when it came to killing the alpha of the local wolf pack. When they heard of the plans for them to come against vamps, it was a choice of them or us. And he had to save his kind and the secret of their lives. But when Sand, the alpha’s brother came sniffing things out, Andre was a bit wary at first. Until he learned the true story of Sand. And then, he didn’t care. He did what he had to do. But the chemistry between Sand and Andre is off the charts and with them consummating that chemistry, there could be trouble for them. A vamp and a wolf shifter? Not a good match when they’ve been at war for years. But will they go against the years and keep up their relationship or will they bow to their fears and let each other go?
Even though this is a fictional book, it’s so parallel to things in the real world. Different people shouldn’t mix, according to bigots and such. To the rest of us with open minds, love is love, no matter sex, race or creed. It’s between the people in love to figure it out. So I felt for Sand and Andre. Everyone, if they found out, would probably try to kill them both. But all they wanted was a life of love and peace with each other. They had to take care of a few things first, but once that was over and they were more or less free, they had a decision to make. And it wasn’t an easy one for either of them. So I felt for them. The fact that they were trying to stop a war in the midst of this didn’t help. But, if they are true to themselves, they will learn what is more important in their lives and act on it.
It’s a good book.
