REVIEW:
This was a good little story. It packed a lot in some short pages. I really enjoyed it.
Robert is used to being rejected by his sister. When she insisted he care for his niece and invoked a silence clause about his life, he was ticked. And his husband is hurt. And his niece is no picnic. But what his niece, Aimee, isn’t realizing, is she can see things she knows nothing about and is about to innocently invite evil in where it doesn’t belong. And now Robert, with the help of the fae, has to save the forest and all that inhabit it as well as his husband. And now Aimee knows the truth. It’s a matter of if Robert will get to Leander in time and will they win…
You know, even with the evil witch in this book, I still wanted to smack Robert’s sister more. What a wench. I get so sick of families being prejudiced and bigoted and homophobic. They are worse than the evil. Because at least with the evil, you’re getting the honesty of it right in front of you instead of the behind the back stabbing. But I loved Robert and Leander. It’s obvious why they are soulmates. They truly belong together and they’re compassion for caring for others is amazing. But what I love even more, is though they’ve been slighted often, they still show compassion for his niece. Even if they want to shake her. They try their best with her and in the end, it’s what makes the difference.
It’s really a good little short. Good vs. evil. Light vs. dark. And a way to overcome the own crap in their lives.
