Maui hadn’t counted on Ian’s determination to save his sister from their father’s dishonorable intentions.
Ian Carmichael runs from the safety of the Alliance Territory in order to bring his sister back with him. From the moment he enters his childhood home things go horribly wrong. He saved his sister but managed to get recaptured by the Psy. The last time he’d been imprisoned by the Psy they had tortured him, this time they took that torture to a whole new level. What’s even worse is they’ve changed him.
Ian’s only hope is that Maui will once more rescue him. Even if he does, Ian isn’t sure Maui can love who he’s become.

REVIEW:
Possible triggers: rape, attempted rape and pedophilia, mind rape
I love this series so much. I’ve loved each and every book. They’ve all kind of had the sad elements as one group does all it can to overpower the others. Greed and jealousy have a way of being powerful motivators that cause some bad things to happen. But something about this one, had more of a sick element to it that made it a bit sadder and upsetting. And for Ian, downright pushed him overboard.
Ian has been through the wringer since his mother died. Nothing seems to go right. His father went from being alright to being downright sick and Ian tried to do all he could to help himself and protect his sister. Until his father sold him to the Psy. Now life has no end to the torture that he has to endure day in and out. When he was finally rescued, he wasn’t sure he could believe it, but it was true and he has his own mate as well. But things weren’t going well for him there and he needed to know his sister was alright. After being constantly humiliated and told no, he decided to get help from his friends and went after her himself, only to be captured again and pushed to the brink of his abuse. And now all he wishes, is maybe the doctor will just end his misery as he knows his life as he knew it is now over.
If you’ve been paying attention to this series, you know that in the last one what happened with Ian. It goes into more detail in this one and also shows what happens from Maui’s perspective as well. Maui loses it more times than once and I felt his pain so bad. Being a fire elemental didn’t help either. Ask anyone around him. But it just shows how deep their connection was. Maui was lost, Ian was lost and scared because of what’s happening to him and neither know how to deal with it. At least Maui had Ian’s sister to calm him somewhat but it still wasn’t the same or enough. I hated it for them both. But what I loved about it, is as scared as Ian was, he was still able to forgive those who truly deserved it. He still tried to remain strong and thought of others before himself. Even if his line of thinking was sometimes a bit skewed, he still tried to do what he thought was the right thing. And Maui did all he could to support Ian and show him what love and compassion really was. Even when he had to go all caveman at times. Lol. These two are each other needs in every way.
Considering what mates have popped up next, I’m curious to see what’s going to happen next. Because it’s going to be a doozy with who’s involved. But I’m anxious too, because the alpha needs a little slap around or someone to rock his world into place. I love this series.

This is a wonderful review. Thank you so much. I’ve read the first two books in this series, so I’m excited to read this third book. Sounds sad but very captivating.
It’s sad in some points, yes. But when you read it you will see why. There are things they have to go through and see from someone else’s point of view. But in the end it is so worth every sniffle. So worth it. It’s a great series
