Wanted: One night together, no strings attached. Hold me, make love to me, treat me like I’m the most important person in the world. No talking. No names. And don’t be surprised if I’m gone in the morning.
After crushing on my best friend for years, I realize he’ll never want someone inexperienced like me. So I decide to get it over with, play the V-card once and for all with an anonymous hook-up. The terms are simple: no talking, no names.
It isn’t as easy as it seems. Now I can’t get the handsome stranger who greeted me with soft kisses and gentle touches out of my mind. Those hands, those lips… But it was just a one-time thing, and I need to forget about him once and for all.
At least I know I won’t ever see him again—until I board a flight and catch sight of a familiar profile in the cockpit just as the door closes.

Jack tilted his head in confusion. “Your other boyfriends haven’t told you how sexy and beautiful you are?”
Oh, shit. The last thing I wanted to do was admit he was the only person I’d ever had sex with. That was a one-way ticket straight to loserville.
“No, I mean. Yeah. Well, you know some guys aren’t talkers, so…”
“They’re idiots,” he murmured before leaning in to kiss me on the lips again. He had the kind of magical kisses that made clothing disappear. I didn’t know that was a thing, but it happened, and the next thing I knew, I was on my back on one of the beds, the cool comforter a shock to my overly warm skin.
An equally naked Jack was on top of me, raining kisses down my jaw to my shoulder and across my chest. I felt like I was grasping at him wildly with both hands and feet like one of those inflatable blowing things in front of car dealerships. No purpose, just frantic flailing.
He finally grabbed both of my wrists and crossed them on the pillow above my head, transferring them into one of his strong hands while the other hand felt up my chest.
I wish I bench-pressed. Did men apologize to other men for not being buffer?
I opened my mouth to say something, but an unintelligible sound of longing came out.
“I have you,” he whispered between kisses. His hands continued to map my chest, sides, and stomach. “So good, so fucking good.”
I wasn’t even sure he knew he was talking out loud, but I liked it. This big, strong pilot muttering reassurances to me during sex was unexpectedly sweet, especially because nothing he was feeling was particularly good at all. It was all very Teo Parisi mediocre. I was that guy you didn’t remember: medium height, medium build, brown hair. So, for him to say anything about being naked with me was good meant he was kind and generous.
Our dicks rubbed together deliciously as he moved his hips rhythmically against me. I arched up into him seeking more and more and more. I wondered if he was going to fuck me or if maybe I should try to suck him off. As soon as the image of his fat dick on my tongue came into my mind, my mouth filled with saliva.
“Suck you,” I managed to blurt.
He froze in the middle of licking one of my nipples and looked up at me with a frown. “I’m sorry?”
“Your dick. Your cock.” What part didn’t he understand? “Your penis.”
His face relaxed into laughter, and he laid his forehead down on my chest. “Teo, I thought you said ‘fuck you.’”
“Ohhh. No. Well, I mean… I guess I could try, but—”
He lurched up and kissed me hard. “You’re adorable. Stay right there.”
Jack climbed off the bed and rustled through his bag before coming back with a small bottle of lube. I didn’t want to think of why he traveled with it. Hopefully for masturbation only.
I rolled my eyes at myself. Sure, Teo. Probably for masturbation only. Look at the man, for god’s sake. He probably has a sailor in every port.
That was corny enough, I had to roll my eyes again. Jack must have seen me because he furrowed his brow.
“No!” I said. “Not you. That’s for me. I’m… never mind. Yes, that. Whatever you’re going to do with that. Please do it. I consent. Fervently. I fervently consent.”

After enjoying creative writing as a child, Lucy didn’t write her first novel until she was over 40 years old. Her debut novel, Borrowing Blue, was published in the autumn of 2016. Lucy has an English Literature degree from Vanderbilt University, but that doesn’t hold a candle to the years and years of staying up all night reading tantalizing novels on her own. She has three children, plays tennis, and hates folding laundry. While her husband is no shmoopy romance hero, he is very good at math, cooks a mean lasagne, has gorgeous eyes, looks hot in his business clothes, and makes her laugh every single day.
Lucy hopes you enjoy sexy heroes as much as she does. Happy reading!
