“That man is not your fairytale ending.”
Griffith has spent two of the most amazing years with his boyfriend Mark, who is undoubtedly The One. Mark is everything Griffith could want in a man. Sexy, kind, always there for him, showering him with gifts and anticipating his needs.
Until one wrong turn sends them crashing into Mark’s past, and suddenly Griff doesn’t even know who his boyfriend is anymore. A spy? A mafioso?
Or a ruthless criminal who has lied to Griff about his identity all along, hiding his brutality under charming smiles.
Is there room for love in a relationship based on lies?
One thing is certain: Griff can’t know what the future holds for him and Mark until he discovers the truth. Too bad the truth is soaked in blood.
REVIEW:
I think that Griffith and Mark are two of my favorite side characters in the Guns n’ Boys series. Griffith is so not like the rest of the characters, and he has no idea that Mark isn’t just a wealthy young man from a South American family who he fell in love with in London and has spent the last two years growing more and more in love with. So in love, in fact, that he as planned to propose in this elaborate way with his friends help on Halloween. But something goes wrong on the way to the party, and Griffith is trust into a world of terror and death that is so far from his world as to be like a living nightmare. Who is Mark really and how can he be the man that Griffith has come to love?
As usual with a book by these ladies, I made a mistake and started reading the book when I didn’t have time to read it. I had to get up early the next morning for work. Did that stop me? Oh no. I started and read most of the night until I finished every single word. I loved the twists and turns along the way, and every time I’d get to a spot to pause, something would make me rationalize that I didn’t need all those hours of sleep anyway.
Griffith learns far more about Mark and Mark’s dads than he ever wanted to know. Could they really be as bad as it appeared? Forced onto the run from a bad man, Mark and Griffith run off to hide in a villa in France owned by Griffith’s aunt. But as things go, you can’t always hide from your troubles. When the final push comes to shove, will Griffith be able to step up and help Mark in the battle?
No more spoilers. I’ve probably said too much already. I loved this one. This is by far my favorite all time series from the ladies, and I look forward to future tales.
I highly recommend the book and the series to everyone. These ladies can write!
