Sabastian “Cash” Cook always thought he’d settle down with a nice woman and have a few kids. But, he also has a different side to him that had been dormant since early high school. That is until Chance Peterson comes into his life.
Cash, the secretary for the Sons of Destruction Motorcycle Club and the owner of Destruction Ink is looking for his mate and a new tattoo artist. Not realizing they are one in the same man. Tall, dark, and covered from head to toe in tattoos, Cash for some reason, has intimidated every applicant who’s walked through his door. He doesn’t understand why; he’s kind, quiet, and does his job well. But, for some reason, people don’t want to work for him. Maybe fate has something better in mind for Cash. After spending four years with the wrong person, Cash has watched members of the club, meet their mates and fall in love while wondering if, and when, he might get his turn — not knowing that the answer is heading his way.
Chance is a twenty-one-year-old who’s had a hard life, in a short amount of time. He lived with a tyrant for a father and a mother who never defended him, then was kicked out at eighteen for being gay. When he moved in with Ian, he didn’t know the hell he was walking into and is abused by someone he loved. Chance has endured it for as long as he could. With help from his best friend, Chance leaves and never looks back. Going to an abuse shelter, they help him escape Florida and into the hands of the Sons of Destruction Helpline. Chance makes it out and doesn’t look back. But Florida and certain people don’t want to let him go.
Chance and Cash meet at the new center, the Sons of Destruction are trying to get started, and it’s an instant attraction for Cash and Chance. Cash finds his mate, and Chance finds his freedom. Join the guys of the SOD for another ride, but this time it’s Cash at the front of the line.
This book has over 87,000 words. There are talks of abuse and murder-suicide, so please read with caution. Sons of Destruction: Cash has a smart-talking Harley, sexy times, dirty t-shirts, and a HEA, like all the previous members of the pack.
Happy Reading and Enjoy.
REVIEW:
Ok, without having to give too much away, I have to warn readers. There are huge triggers in this one. Drug abuse which causes severe physical abuse to the MC and several others. Parents who are abusive, murder, suicide, stalking, etc. If any of this is a trigger, please be careful.
I think this is my favorite one so far. And I’ve really enjoyed all of them. But something about Chance just brings out the protective side of you. You’ll see what I mean when you read it. And by what he ends up gaining, it couldn’t be more perfect. But unfortunately, Chance has to go through a lot to end up in the good. He is kicked out for being gay and ends up finding out some he’d rather not about his father and what kind of man he really is. He is also very severely abused by his boyfriend. Finally having taken all he can, he gets help from his boss and another friend and they get him out of the state using a helpline. He’s tired and terrified, and jumps at anything until he meets Cash. Of whom smells delicious to him. He has no idea what he’s in for in this new chapter of his life, but with Cash, he feels like he can start over again and be alright. But they have to get through the mess his family and ex are bringing to the table, and Chance has to learn with the right support and love, he can do just about anything.
I always loved the name Chance. When I was pregnant, before I found out I was having a girl, I decided if it was a boy, that would be his name. So the name alone has a special meaning to me. But when you read about this sweet, young man, you can’t help but fall in love with him. He is the epitome of innocence. Not meaning virgin either. Even with all the horror he went through at the hands of his ex and father, he still just screams pure and innocence. He’s just this person you’d want to wrap in your arms and hold on to for the rest of your life. And I think that’s why I love this pack and guys so much more. The compassion they have for the abused and such just makes your heart weep. And it doesn’t have to be their mates. It’s just who and how they are. And Cash seems to have the biggest heart of them all. Cash is just perfect for Chance. He’s everything Chance needs, even when Chance doesn’t know he needs it. And knowing he has friends and a support system now. People who don’t judge him, they show him love, even if he goofs. And it just makes Chance bloom even more than he already is. When he finally feels and truly learns he’s safe and can be who he is, the personality that is his is beautiful. Sarcastic and funny, but beautiful.
It’s not an easy story to read. None of these 3 so far are. They all deal with severe abuse and other things. But the endings are worth it. The bonds these guys all form make it even better. I really have enjoyed these stories and hope there are more on the horizon.
