REVIEW:
They say “First Love Never Dies!” I think in some ways this is true because it signifies a momentous event in one’s life, the first time you fall in love! Now, you may end up together forever, or not, but it doesn’t take away the significance of the relationship. It will always be remembered!
But then sometimes accidents happen. And sometimes what happens after can totally change our lives forever. As in the case of one of our main characters. Robin was in a horrible accident which resulted in him losing a year of memories. Now those memories are the ones of him and his boyfriend, a relationship they kept a secret. You may ask how come he only lost that year of memories, not the ones before. I am not a medical expert but in my humble opinion, those specific memories set a chain of events that resulted in the accident, so I think the trauma it resulted to made him to not want to remember those specific ones, but also maybe it is a direct result of the accident and those were the current memories on his mind.
Cash and Robin had been in love. Unfortunately, they had to keep it a secret because of Robin’s dad. But when Robin is involved in a life-altering accident, it also signified the beginning of the end of their young love. Robin can not remember his life before the accident. Head trauma can have this effect. Cash tries to keep in touch, although Robin’s father didn’t want him to. And when Robin tells Cash that he is marrying Sarah, the girl whose car he hit in the accident, Cash decided to sign up for the Marines.
Now seven years after, Cash, urged and encouraged by his cousin Jeremy and friends, is finally deciding to move on. After his last stunt ended in an injury which could have cost him his life, he finally realizes that he didn’t want to end his life so that means he just has to find a way to move on from his one and only love, Robin.
Hopeless, undying, unrequited, Cash knew his love for Robin would always be forever. Meanwhile, Robin and Sarah have just finalized their divorce and will now, finally, live their separate lives. Even though he doesn’t have memories of his relationship with Cash, Robin has always had a crush on him. Now he wants to act on it. He does not want anyone else.
Now, you can call me a hopeless romantic but I always believe that when you find “the one”, you would know, no matter the circumstances surrounding it, and if you truly belong to each other, the universe has a way of letting you end up with each other. No matter how long it takes! Did I say I was a hopeless romantic?
A story that will make your heart clenched with pain for the two main characters. This tale will tell you that no matter the amount of memory loss you may feel, underneath it all there is that gut, intuitive feeling that this person is someone truly special for you! Ms. Starling, this by far is my favorite in this series!
