Three steamy bestselling novellas set within the Blue Boy world. All three novellas are set in and around the Los Angeles based Blue Boy Studio, an adult film company with a difference.
BOOK 1 – Bullet: Levi is a power top with an alcoholic mother, and a chip on his shoulder. Sonny’s a dancer with attitude and the biggest heart. Their scene together is just another day at work until Levi realises he’s falling hard for the twink he used to hate. Enemies to lovers is inevitable.
BOOK 2 – Bones: Skater boy Cam is a veteran actor at Blue Boy adult studio. Nursing an unrequited crush on his boss, he’s never needed anything else until kind-hearted Sasha rides into his life on his BMX. They share more than mutual attraction, and when Cam find himself in need of some healing comfort, friendship turns to love.
BOOK 3 – Bold: Go-go dancer Kai has never been the object of anyone’s desire, at least not for real, away from the adult studio where he films scene after scene from the bottom. Then quiet Matthew enters his life. A scene with a difference comes to call, if Kai can figure out how to truly own Matthew, inside and out.
All three novellas guarantee a happily-ever-after.
REVIEW:
Bullet: Levi Ramone gives the paying audience what it wants. He pounds his scene partners without much thought to who he’s even with. He needs to money to keep ahead of the debts his alcoholic mother seems to keep saddling him with – something only his business partner and one of his fellow models knows. As an only child whose father exited while Levi was in college, he’s got no other family and no support whatsoever beyond his motorcycle shop and his porn career. Jon, the owner of Blue Boy just knows Levi needs money, so he offers him a lot of money to do something he’s never done before. Enter Sonny. He’s the gorgeous dancer and mostly power bottom that Jon also wants in the scene together another with one other power top. Levi isn’t ready for it so Sonny offers to help him prepare for this scene.
Sonny and Levi start off with a pretty frosty relationship. Sonny lays down some truth that Levi doesn’t really want to hear, but it does make an impression. As the date for their big scene gets closer, Levi’s life comes crashing down. He’s not sure what his relationship to Sonny is, nor is he sure he can do the scene. Sonny is there for him when it all comes crashing down.
I really loved Sonny in this story. He’s obviously a strong character – student, dancer, porn star. But he sees something in Levi that maybe Levi doesn’t even see in himself. Levi has had a rough time since his dad has been gone and he’s surviving – but certainly not living. Sonny gives him something he never thought he’d have – even though pinning him down is difficult.
Bones: Cam is a long term model at Blue Boys. He’s done scenes with everybody. He’s especially close to Levi and Sonny. He’s also in a rather abusive “relationship” with Jon, the owner of Blue Boys. His family life has tumbled with the split of his parents. He’s got younger brothers and a sister and his dad is trying to keep everything together. Cam’s a bit untethered at this point. He’s not excited by anything – until he meets Sasha. Sasha owns a bike shop on the beach and when he comes into the shop Cam works at to get something for his mom, they hit it off. Sasha invites Cam to bike with him sometime and so they start a tentative friendship.
Cam is definitely interested in Sasha, but he’s not sure what Sasha wants. Sasha seems to be a little reluctant – although it’s obvious he’s attracted as well. When they start to get closer, Sasha pulls away. Then a health crisis for Cam pushes them back together. Cam understands Sasha’s resistance as he has to deal with fallout of his own. But Sasha vows to be there for him. Cam learns to share his burdens and allow his friends to be there for him.
Cam is a sweetheart. He’s a good friend to others and when he needs support, he finally shares his news with his family and friends. Sasha is such a good friend to Cam. He’s so smart to take things slow and allow both Cam and himself to take things as they come and not rush into anything that will put a lot of pressure on them. I really liked the way their relationship developed and how honest they were with each other after the initial hot/cold back and forth.
Bold: Kai is a go-go dancer, bartender and model at Blue Boy and Silver, the club connected to Blue Boy. He lives with awful roommates and just tries to keep ahead on this bills. When the studio is sold and the new owners, Mac and Jude, want to assess what’s going on with the models, they want Kai to go for his GED. While they are both retired porn stars, the want Kai to be able to have a life and work post Blue Boy.
When they pair Kai with Matthew, a newer model, for a scene, they ask them to work together on doing what they really want. Also Matthew is a college student in virology and there may be an ulterior motive to get Kai some help with his GED studies. Kai has some challenges, but with Matthew’s help he’s making progress. They also work on their scene – deciding what they want to do, but never taking their “practice” to the inevitable conclusion.
They get closer and then an incident at the club results in a scare that draws them together even more. They spend a lot of recovery time together and it’s obvious they are developing feelings for each other. But they are not calling it dating. They aren’t calling it anything actually.
As the holidays approach and Matthew is going to be away visiting his family, Kai is a bit down. Sonny tries to buoy Kai’s spirits with Matthew’s absence and Kai’s apprehension about his GED results weighing him down. But then another misunderstanding feeds Kai’s insecurities and he pushes Matthew away. Fortunately he gets his head on straight after a near miss emergency. Matthew thankfully has patience and he also really cares about Kai.
Kai and Matthew are a great couple! It’s obvious from the beginning that they are very good together, but Kai has a lot of difficulty accepting help and feeling worthy. His family isn’t there for him. He had trouble with school. He feels like he is not good enough for Matthew who has a loving family and is smart and going places. Mac and Jude do everything in their power to put Kai and Matthew in a good place to figure out their relationship. I liked how all the guys were supportive of this relationship but didn’t push them faster than they were ready to go.
Overall I really really liked this series. I actually hope there will be at least one more story so that we can get Sonny sorted out. He’s a strong thread through all these stories and I don’t feel like we have his whole arc yet. All of these guys were strong characters – multi-dimensional and not just porn stars, They all have lives and other issues and families and desires outside of the porn business. I also really liked Mac and Jude – the guys who take over Blue Boy during Bones. They seem like stand up guys and I was happy to see the end of Jon. Highly recommended especially for those fans or porn star stories.
