But, if you’re brave, then this trip down non-con road can be cathartic to any victim whose voices has been silenced by “political correctness”. Rape happens even if we try to silence it to death (banning books). Yet the voice of a victim shouting out can be cathartic to both author and reader, and some readers just need the insight to know how to shoe us understanding and compassion. It’s where perspective is offered and a victim can face their demons at arm’s length, see them punished, and see a victim stand tall and strong at the end. Does it offer a solution? Probably not—the problem is far too complex for that. Revenge is pretty certain, though, so chill the wine and enjoy these characters served cold.
