It’s that time of year again people. The time where we, the voracious and obsessive readers of LGBTQ romance, look back and reflect on what an amazing year of books it’s been. If you’re anything like us then you’re already compiling your 2020 “To Read” list, but first, let’s share some of our favourite books from the year just gone.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting our top reads of the year. Please feel free to tell us your own favourites, or simply comment on our choices.
If you are looking for something a little lighter on the romance and flowers,

Fractured Men (Hunt&Cam4Ever #4) by Adira August
This is one of my favorite series! There is mystery and suspense and not your typical BDSM relationship, and there is just so much to love about it. The characters suck you in from early on, keep holding and it doesn’t feel like they will ever let go. Not a stand alone.
Good Green Earth (Colors of Love #3) by V.L. Locey
One of those stories where the characters just steal the show. Enjoyable from beginning to end.
Dealing in Death (Death and the Devil #2.5) by L.J. Hayward
Intense characters, exciting storyline that keeps you turning pages and longing for more. Definitely not a stand alone but recommend the entire series.
King Slayer (Fog City #2) by Layla Reyne
Twists and turns abound in this high intensity series. Each installment as good as the last. Another one with characters to sink your teeth into. Not a stand alone.
Beneath the Stain (Beneath the Stain #1) by Amy Lane, Narrated by Nick J. Russo
There is a lot going on in this story – lots of characters to keep track of. But it is so worth the effort. I quickly became invested in the lives of these young men and their struggles. Mr. Russo does an amazing job of bring them to life and giving them all voices.
Don’t (Don’t, Book 1) by Jack L. Pyke
This is one messed up book! It is a psychological thriller in every sense, but it sucked me in and has never let go. It is intense and not like any other BDSM story I’ve read before. Each character brings a certain “charm” and places this series at the top of my all-time favorite list. The series is also releasing on audio and while I highly recommend that as well, it is very British and would be much easier to follow if you’ve read the books first. No worries though, you will not regret doing both if this is your kind of story.
Save the Date (Harrisburg Railers #9) by R.J. Scott and V.L. Locey
If you love hockey, this is a wonderful series. While the books follow various players, there are a few characters that are more closely related, either as family or as teammates, so you will definitely see them again. As the title suggests, there is a wedding being planned – for the original and one of my favorite couples. You’ll surely want to Safe the Date on this one!
