Constantine Ross is a cocky, provoking little…yeah.
And I swear, I’d think that even if his family’s business wasn’t my biggest competition.
It’s time someone taught the man a lesson or two about life.
At least that’s what I tell myself when I offer him a job.
Call it my good deed for the year… maybe the century.
But now he’s in my shop.
In my space.
In my every damn thought.
In. My. Bed.
And how the hell am I supposed to resist him?
Constantine
I’ll be the first to admit I’ve royally screwed up, but what can I say?
I was a stupid teen who lost his dad and spiraled out of control.
Almost a decade later, I’m still trying to make amends.
The last thing I need is my family’s arch-nemesis wading into my life like he’s got all the answers.
Except… I really need money, and the arrogant jerk offered me a job.
I can deal with Micah’s attitude.
My attraction to him? That’s different.
He’s my boss, not my boyfriend.
And he’s way too old for me.
But God, he’s gorgeous.
Dominant.
Compelling.
I don’t want to want him…
But I can’t turn away.
REVIEW:
Well here we are with the third book in one of my new favorite series. I’m really enjoying the series, even if every one of them keeps me up too late reading.
In The Secret we move on to another of the Ross brothers. This time the story focuses on Constantine, the middle child and the one who has always been in trouble it seems his entire life. There was that incident where he might just have poured something into the gas tank of the rich smarmy kid which caused the kid to have an accident. And then the kid’s lawyer father sued Constantine’s mother, and there were a lot of other things as well. Constantine has been atoning for his sins by working for the family landscaping business run by his mother for free for ten years. He needs money though, and somehow he ends up offering to work for the company’s main competitor in town, Micah’s Blooms.
Micah has recently come to O’Leary and his business is taking off. His main competitors, the Ross family, don’t do the quality of arrangements that he does, and he has garnered a lot of compliments from influential people. He has a contract in place for an upcoming wedding of a Senator’s daughter and things are getting so busy that he needs help. Enter Constantine Ross. It can’t possibly work out for Constantine to work for him can it? If Constantine’s mother finds out… all hell will break loose.
I enjoyed these two men circling each other. Constantine is only 24 and Micah is 40. They are from competing businesses. Constantine’s mother blames Micah for the loss of business the family business has seen.
Again, as with the previous two, the book kept me up way past my bedtime. I need to learn to only start a May Archer book on a day off when I have lots of time to fall into it!
I highly recommend this one, and the entire series. I’m off to book 4!
