Being Stalked by a Pet Series
Hi! Thank you for stopping by to help me celebrate the release of my new romance, PASSIONS OF A PAPILLON. I’m so happy to be here. Do you like series reads or standalone books? I think a lot, if not most readers prefer series because then if they fall in love with a story, there’s the promise of more.
While I’ve managed to create a handful of standalone romances like Home Improvement – -A Love Story, Rome and Jules, and The Fairy Shop, most of my titles are part of series, and they’re relentless! LOL. Sometimes I create a story – like Volley Balls – and later I realize the story wants to be a series. Good grief, the Balls to the Wall series has seven books, but I didn’t picture any of them until after I wrote the first. That was also true for my most popular series, Love in Laguna. Knight of Ocean Avenue was a single idea until the other characters started screaming for their own stories. Sometimes, however, the books are created out of a series idea. That was true for Passions of a Papillon.
I love animals of all kinds, including pets. I’ve written tons of dogs and cats into my stories like all my famous cats in Knight of Ocean Avenue, Lord of a Thousand Steps, and The Case of the Sexy Shakespearean. There are dogs too in Fool of Main Beach. One day I was thinking about how I could write a series that integrated pets more into the action. Hmm. What if all the pets went to the same veterinarian? The series, Fuzzy Love, was born.
Of course, my own pet is the amazing Papillon dog, Jolie, so of course, I had to make the heroine of my first book a Papillon. That was the basis for my new romance. In this book, other pets and pet owners are introduced and now, naturally, they’re all screaming for their own stories! Like I say, relentless. I have a lot of books to write, but these are high on the list. Expect to see a pit bull, a furry little terrier and an Abyssinian cat in future Fuzzy Love romances. I wonder what kind of trouble they’ll get into?
Tara Lain believes in happy ever afters – and magic. Same thing. In fact, she says, she doesn’t believe, she knows. Tara shares this passion in her best-selling stories that star her unique, charismatic heroes — the beautiful boys of romance — and adventurous heroines. Quarterbacks and cops, werewolves and witches, blue collar or billionaires, Tara’s characters, readers say, love deeply, resolve seemingly insurmountable differences, and ultimately live their lives authentically. After many years living in southern California, Tara, her soulmate honey and her soulmate dog decided they wanted less cars and more trees, prompting a move to Ashland, Oregon where Tara’s creating new stories and loving living in a small town with big culture. Likely a Gryffindor but possessed of Parseltongue, Tara loves animals of all kinds, diversity, open minds, coconut crunch ice cream from Zoeys, and her readers. She also loves to hear from you.
