REVIEW:
This was a pretty good start to the series. A guy dealing with bad breakups thinking he’s going to get help with a love potions or something, only to find out he’s in the middle of a set of murders revolving around him. And a demon hell bent on seeing him dead.
Aiden has been having some very bad luck with dating and men. The latest one said he was away on a business trip and visiting family, only to find out, the man was cheating on him and was making plans to move away. Hurt and angry, he spends time with a friend of his who suggest he go to this spell shop to maybe find a spell to help him find a good man. When they go out later, Aiden finds a good man, but it has nothing to do with the spell. Instead the spell has conjured up a demon murdering people in connection with him. And his latest lover, Aiden is scared is going to get hurt. But Garen and his husband, Luke, are like paranormal cops and are going to try to stop this conjurer and demon. But they have to stop this stuff from happening before someone else dies. And Aiden as well.
I really like the start of this. I’m anxious to see where it’s going to go. The way it left off, sets it up to be a good story line for the next one. I like the characters. The paranormal cops and fighting the evil to make the world a better place. It’s a very good story line. Sometimes people do stupid things because they are hurt and angry about how things in their lives had turned out. This kind of stuff is usually all a hoax but in someone’s mind, it can be powerful and cause a whole lot of trouble. So when someone suggests a spell like that, even if it is real, the turmoil, the murders and everything that happens can lead to disastrous effects. But it made for a hell of a story.
With the way it ended, I’m definitely ready to see what happens next. Though, Garen and Luke did their job, it’s not officially over. So I’m ready to see who’s and what is next.
