Happy New Year!
My year has ambushed me and taken me a direction I hadn’t expected. RL has attacked with a vengeance. I had brilliant ideas of putting out a re-release every month, but that’s not going to happen, at least for a while.
I’ve spent most of the last few weeks on domestic leave from the day job because of family stuff. While things didn’t go in the direction I thought, I still have a lot of work to get through on a very limited time frame. I need to take a moment to give huge kudos to friends who have stepped up and helped me out. I’d be in a much worse position than I thought without them. Sorting out someone else’s house to sell has made me even more convinced that I need to do a serious declutter of my own house, once everything calms down again.
I had already started on it, then had to put all my stuff to one side.
On the writing front Sunset at Pencarrow is re-releasing from JMS Books at the end of the month so I’ve been squeezing in edits and proof reading amongst all of it.
Lou Sylvre and I have a gorgeous new cover and we’re excited to have our New Zealand set Romance back out in the world! We’ll be sharing it on our sites on the 19th.
Blurb:
Kiwi Nathaniel Dunn is in a fighting mood, but how does a man fight Wellington’s famous fog? In the last year, Nate’s lost his longtime lover to boredom and his ten-year job to the economy. Now he’s found a golden opportunity for employment where he can even use his artistic talent, but to get the job, he has to get to Christchurch today. Heavy fog means no flight, and the ticket agent is ignoring him to fawn over a beautiful but annoying, overly polite American man.
Rusty Beaumont can deal with a canceled flight, but the pushy Kiwi at the ticket counter is making it difficult for him to stay cool. The guy rubs him all the wrong ways despite his sexy working-man look, which Rusty notices even though he’s not looking for a man to replace the fiancé who died two years ago. Yet when they’re forced to share a table at the crowded airport café, Nate reveals the kind heart behind his grumpy façade. An earthquake, sex in the bush, and visits from Nate’s belligerent ex turn a day of sightseeing into a slippery slope that just might land them in love.
Next up, I’ll be working on getting On Wings of Song—my WWI Christmas Truce story—republished through LaceDragon publishing. I’m also planning to release this one as a paperback for the first time, so that will be another new adventure as I haven’t used Ingram Spark before.
I’ve put Prelude to Love on the backburner until my historical stories are out, as they only require a read through and converting US English to UK/NZ. My lovely editor gave me some wonderful feedback on Joel and Marcus’ story, which will entail a bit of a rewrite, but I think it will be a lot stronger for it. I originally wrote the story for a range that is low angst and that’s not really how I roll. I’m looking forward to angsting these guys a lot more.
Hopefully once I get past the RL stuff, things will return to the normal level of insanely hetic and I can be back onto my writing and re-release schedule. Keep your fingers crossed.
Meantime I’d love to see some of you in my readers group and/or signing up for my newsletter.
