It’s that time of year again people. The time where we, the voracious and obsessive readers of LGBTQ romance, look back and reflect on what an amazing year of books it’s been. If you’re anything like us then you’re already compiling your 2020 “To Read” list, but first, let’s share some of our favourite books from the year just gone.
Over the next few weeks we’ll be posting our top reads of the year. Please feel free to tell us your own favourites, or simply comment on our choices.
LISA
I had been in a long reading dry spell when I agreed to co-review this book with Jen. For the first time in almost a year, I was engaged in reading again! I loved that I was keep guessing what would happen and even though the subject matter is dark, it suited my frame of mind.
Again, I was engaged while reading this book. There were many parts when it was extremely difficult to continue but of the content but I loved all the suspense and had no idea whatsoever who the Big Bad was until the reveal.
The ending to Antidote was a cliffie so I needed to know what would happen next in Jack, Jan, and Gray’s lives. I enjoyed seeing Jack’s backstory even though it’s sometimes heartbreaking.
Purls of Wisdom by Morgan James
So much fluff! I like that one of the MCs is Jewish. Even though I’m not Jewish, I feel like we need more Hanukkah stories. I liked the romance between the guys and reading the story helped me find a new hobby.
Crochet my Heart by Carol Pedroso
Another fun fluff filled holiday story. I really liked this year’s theme because I’m surrounded by crafters so I can relate to characters who want to make home made gifts. The flirtation between the guys was so cute and sweet, just like a Hallmark movie only with gay leads.
Thank you so much, Lisa!!
