ANNIKA
Bitter Legacy (Audio) by Dal MacLean (Author) & Gary Furlong (Narrator)
If there was ever a way to make a debut, this book was it! So much emotion, it was raw and honest and far from pretty and I loved every moment of it. Furlong truly made it all come alive with his brilliant performance.
Balefire – Whyborne & Griffin #10 (Audio) by Jordan L. Hawk (Author) & (Julian G. Simmons (Narrator)
This book was intense! For a long time now things have been building and after finishing this book I’m ready to explode – I need to know how it all ends, the suspense might just kill me otherwise. Hawk is a masterful storywriter and Simmons is equally masterful at bringing those stories to life – monsters and all. Nightmares are free of charge while listening 😉
Love Me Whole (Audio) by Nicky James (Author) & Adam Gold (Narrator)
This book left me speechless and in awe. It was different and wonderful and beautiful in every way. Adam Gold’s performance of it was outstanding and just right.
N.R. Walker needs to write more mysteries! I loved this hunt beginning to end. Tallowwood was just perfect and addictive and everything a great mystery should be, and if I remember correctly I binged it all in a single thrilling night.
Not Dead Yet (Audio) by Jenn Burke (Author) & Greg Boudreaux (Narrator)
This was the book I didn’t know I’ve been looking for! A murder mystery, a superbly interesting paranormal world, great characters and Greg Boudreaux on top of that! I don’t know that things get any better.
Spellbound (Audio) by Allie Therin (Author) & Erik Bloomquist (Narrator)
Now that’s the way to start a new series. I’m hooked, possibly obsessed – or maybe that is possessed? I cannot believe this is Allie Therin’s first book, it was that good. The world building was intricate and imaginative and the plot had many twists and turns – I loved it all and Bloomquist’s performance of it made it an even better experience.
Rewind (Pinx Video Mysteries #4) by Marshall Thornton
I’m seriously hooked on this series, there’s something about these books that just makes me happy and a little bit nostalgic. Thornton has this incredible way to take you back to the 90’s, the slower pace of life – and more insane in others. You’re in for a ride either way.
Couldn’t Cheat Death (Audio) by A.P. Eisen (Author) & Kale Williams (Narrator)
My list this year contains more debut authors than I first realized, and this one is one of them. It was well-written with characters and a plot you could believe in, a great and engaging murder mystery wrapped up in a beautiful romance. And when you add in Williams’ performance I was a goner. I want more!
Reunion – Diversion #6 (Audio) by Eden Winters (Author) & Darcy Stark (Narrator)
This series keep getting better and better. I love Lucky and Bo, I love how far they’ve come. And I love the snark. I know that whenever I pick up a book in this series I’ll have a wonderful time, Winters and Stark sees to that – every time.
Honeymoon for One (Audio) by Keira Andrews (Author) & Joel Leslie (Narrator)
This was a beautiful love story filled of emotions – good and bad. It was also filled with hope and a lot of love – and great accents and scenery. Leslie did a great performance of this book, hit every note. I especially loved the way he handled Ethan’s disability, he truly captured it. Beautiful, beginning (eerrr – kind of) to end.
Honeymoon for One was so good. Joel Leslie always does such a great job!
Some really great reqs here. I am seriously behind!
Amazing list of books, Annika!
