Will Oliver get the gift he’s hoping for this Christmas?
Oliver Walker’s Christmas is shaping up to be a quiet one. That is until hunky neighbour Ed Middleton moves in next door.
Attraction is instant, but Ed is only there temporarily and neither wants to start something with an expiration date.
As the festive season approaches, holiday cheer wraps around them, and giving in to temptation is inevitable. But Ed is still set on moving in the new year—a fresh start, miles away from those he’s closest to.
If Oliver doesn’t want to lose his heart, he’ll have to show Ed that home is wherever he wants it to be, and love is possible no matter what.
No Place Like Home is a heartwarming story of love between neighbours, family and friends, about adorable rescue cats, and remembering that sometimes the very thing you’re looking for is right under your nose.
REVIEW:
Sometimes first impressions can be wrong! Especially if you go into it making assumptions. People say that first impressions are important, but what if you made the wrong assumption on a person because of your first impression? Would that be fair to the person in question? I think it is important not to make assumptions based on first impressions because you could totally be off the mark!
Ed thought Oliver was someone casing his neighbor’s house so he called the police. They sent someone to check and it turned out that the “supposed intruder” was a relative/close family friend of the owner who left his keys and didn’t want to disturb the owner and he’s also the brother of the policeman who came to check on the complaint.
And then Ed made another wrong assumption based on how Oliver looks physically. He just keeps on making these wrong assumptions and saying or blurting it out. Luckily Oliver is not the kind of man who gets angry immediately, in fact Ed thinks Oliver is always happy. As an apology turns into helping in the renovations, friendship blooms and then more. But Ed is moving up north as soon as he finds a place. So both do not see the point of starting something and to just leave it at that.
This is a feel-good story between two people who have had bad relationship experiences. I love the friendship that blooms between the main characters and the supporting characters. The style it was written is really good. Low level in angst and there are really sweet and awkward moments that will endear you to both main characters. Of course a story will not be complete without meddling relatives, best friends, etc. Just in time for the season, you will totally enjoy this!
