If you’re anything like us then you’re already compiling your 2020 “To Read” list, but first, let’s share some of our favourite books from the year just gone.

SADONNA
Matchstick Men by Adira August
(Combination of On His Knees/Matchstick Men, Hunt&Cam4Ever #1 release in 2019)
I read On His Knees a couple years ago. For some reason I didn’t move on to the rest of the series. When the author re-released it combined with Matchstick Men, I picked it up for review. This couple is my new obsession 🙂
The Gift (Love in O’Leary #2) by May Archer
I read this book first even though it’s technically #2 in the series. I LOVED the characters – especially Julian. He was amazing and adorable and perfect for Daniel. This series became one of my favorites this year.
The Mystery of the Bones (Snow & Winter #4) by C.S. Poe
This was the perfect finale to this series. I love Seb and Cal and this mystery put Seb truly in the position of having to solve the mystery this time to save Cal. Well done!
The Mysterious and Amazing Blue Billings by Lily Morton
Normally I dislike horror/scary stories. This was scary! But also soooo good in the capable hands of Lily Morton. I loved Blue and I wanted better for him. I can’t wait for the next book.
The Best-Laid Plans by Addison Albright
I absolutely loved this story about a prince who is promised to the princess of the neighboring kingdom, but when she dies before they wed, he gets to choose someone else and he chooses the lone brother of the deceased princess. Their story is beautifully told and the surprised prince becomes the hero in his own story. Bravo!
Bitter Heat (Heat of Love #3) by Leta Blake
I absolutely love this series. The first two books were fabulous and this third is no less amazing. Kerry and Janus have a really tough road but they are incredible characters and I spent the whole book hoping that things would turn out well for them. Beautiful story as usual from this author.
Mainly by Moonlight: Bedknobs and Broomsticks #1) by Josh Lanyon
I loved the first book of this new series. Cosmo is a witch, but his fiance doesn’t know that. John is the new Police Commissioner of San Francisco. When Cosmo is found at the scene of a murder – of another witch no less – things get a little bit dicey. I loved Book 2 as well and cannot wait for the next one 🙂
Life According to Liam by V.L. Locey
This story is hysterical. Bryn Mettler, a professional hockey player and Mike, a blogger/web designer are brought together by the girlfriend of a team mate who follows the blog. Liam is the 4 year old nephew of Mike and he’s the main subject of the blog. This kid is hilarious and written like a real 4 year old. Love it when kids in books actually act like kids!
An Uncommon Whore by Belinda McBride
(Uncommon Whore #1 edited/re-released in 2019)
I ADORED this story when I first read the first edition in 2011. I chased Belinda around GRL one year to get the extra special print edition with additional PL Nunn illustrations 🙂 I absolutely loved the re-release. Helios and Griff are still amazing together and their love survives against incredible odds. I thought the editing and additions were perfect and I am looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd book releases.
Fall Through Spring (Winter Ball) by Amy Lane
This is the book in the series that I knew would be a gut punch. Clay is finally pretty happy with his life but is belittled by his super successful family. Dane is trying to get a handle on his bipolar brain chemistry and keep going in grad school. Skipper, Richie and Mason are back along for the ride and providing support along the way. Beautifully told story that doesn’t sugarcoat the tough stuff when confronting loving someone dealing with mental illness.
Thank you so much, Sadonna!
