On the run from the mate who poisoned and nearly killed him, omega Khory Landry finds unexpected support from a lawyer with influential friends. The entire Danvers clan promises to keep Khory safe and help him press charges—especially eldest son Aeron.
After screwing up big time as a teenager, alpha Aeron Danvers has a plan: finish university, attend the constabulary academy, and become a decorated constable. His plans don’t include feelings for a pregnant omega mated to a dangerous con man. Khory has enough stress without worrying about Aeron’s unexpected feelings for him. The friendship Khory offers has to be enough.
While his lawyer fights Khory’s legal battles, Aeron and Khory fight their blossoming attraction to each other. When Khory’s mate shows up and tries to force him home, Aeron will have to step up or risk losing Khory for good.
A slow-burn, friends-to-lovers romance, HEAR ME is the third book in the “Finding Free” omegaverse series, which is a spin-off of the fan-favorite “Breaking Free” series. This is an original universe featuring mpreg, A/B/O dynamics, heats, knotting and an alpha-dominated society that is starting to see advances in omega rights. Content warnings for dark themes apply.
An Omegaverse Story.
REVIEW:
The last book was kind of left in a cliffhanger and this one opens exactly the way book 2 ends. And it’s like the others. So, so goood and so, so much of a tearjerker. I’ve loved this spinoff of the kids so much. And I love how much they’ve grown. They’ve had such wonderful influences, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come without problems.
In this one, we meet one of the last of the children that came from the fight ring omegas. Khory’s omegin died in birth and was given to the betas that took care of his omegin. But life since then seems to have just started spiraling. He loved his parents, but losing them to an accident that scarred him, also left him devastated. Then having to move to an omega house, feeling like you’re constantly being passed over. And he was. Because heaven forbid someone want someone with a few scars. But then he met an alpha who seemed perfect. Until he decided to find out about his past and it went to hell from there. Leaving Khory to have to run at 8 months pregnant. And into a group of people he didn’t know and not knowing if they would hurt him as well. But just as he’s finally starting to feel at home and maybe finally a place for himself, his old alpha tries to make him come back and things are very scary for a bit. It’s up to Aeron and all the others to help Khory or Khory may not make it out alive.
I remember at the end of book 2, I was in such shock. I couldn’t believe we had basically just found the last of the children for the omega fight ring. This one was a harder one to a point though. All the omegas have been through their own personal hell with that ring and everything that came from it, but knowing Khory didn’t even get to know his omega, was so disheartening. Because Khory’s omega was a sweet guy. The problem was, all this was bringing up old resentments for Aeron as well and how he’s tried to deal with the betrayal of being adopted himself. And if it weren’t for how things had went with his adoptive parents and stuff, he would probably never know his own omega. That he does know and has gotten to know his omega, he’s grateful for, but it’s still a sore subject. Point being, as much as the original omegas have all had their own problems to overcome from the hells they endured, and the fighting of laws to get to where they are today, it’s also been just as hellish for the children. These guys have had their own stuff they’ve had to try to overcome, from kidnapping to addictions, to attempted murders. And through all of it though, the key thing, is they’ve all had family. No matter what they’ve been through, no matter what was to come, they all bonded together as a family to overcome what has happened and what is to come.
And now Khory has the same. He knows what it’s like to have family now. Even when the past tries to come back and take it from him, he still has support and the love of a family to back him now. And though life won’t always be easy, the love will always be there as will the family. I love these guys so much. And I have a feeling the next one is going to tear me up as well. I love this series.
