When the disturbing dreams start and his mentor, Oak, is hesitant to discuss them, Fletcher doesn’t know where to turn. He and his boyfriend Conner are in the process of moving in together, and he doesn’t want to add anything else to Conner’s list of concerns.
With a vengeful fae waiting for his chance to raze Rowan Harbor to the ground, Fletcher has to find a way to protect everything he loves and survive the coming storm.
REVIEW:
I’m so so sad. I do not want this series to be over. It just can’t be. When I first saw this series, I was immediately drawn to it. And when I had a chance to get this series, I grabbed at it. I couldn’t pass it up. And I got so attached to this series. I don’t want it to be over. The characters in this book are amazing. The family unit they have formed, the bonds they’ve created, it has just made this series perfect. And the thing about these characters, they aren’t perfect. They are amazingly flawed, and they know it. Sometimes they have a hard time expressing it. Like in this book, but they try. They get a beat down and they keep getting up and trying again.
All of the guys are in this series, of course. You can’t have one without all of them. But it mainly focuses on Fletcher, and his role in Rowan Harbor and his role in everyone’s life. Including Connor’s. Including how he fit into the role of Connor’s other half. But in this Fletcher, he has a lot to deal with and a lot that is coming to realization to him. And one a moment too late. And it that moment, the dawning of what Fletcher’s role really is, hits him, and hits him hard. Because he doesn’t feel he’s ready, and he doesn’t want to lose something that means so much to him, but knows he’s going to regardless.
This book is about changes and growing. This whole series really has been. It’s been about second chances and love and so much more. It’s about beginnings and endings, new cycles of life and learning to move forward no matter how bad you may get beaten down. It’s a beautiful series. It’s almost like an end to an era and it’s breaking my heart. I cried when these guys cried, laughed when they laughed, and everything in between. I hope that someday there may be a revisit to this series. I really hope that maybe I’m wrong and there will be more, but I feel like this is the finale. And I have to say, if you guys have not read this series, if you have not been a part of this world, you have no idea what you are missing out on. Thanks to Sam Burns for an amazing series.
